Very athletic kid, but after watching Mizzou's problems with the press and inbounding, is Pinson the answer "Handles" wise. Or do we still need a 5'11-6' ball handler?

Need another, I don’t know if Pinson is strong enough as a freshman.

Pinson will help, but has to get stronger in order to be the answer.

Pinson will provide less than Harris did when he was here. Unrealistic to expect more and not fair to him. Need more at the point

Look at these highlights of Pinson to the end and you tell me if you think that he could be some help next year. He's number 3 in white with (Simeon High)

He’s the answer. Probably the most underrated player in his class. A lot of people think he is the most talented player on this year’s Simeon team.

Dude is lightening quick, has ridiculous handles, and would day-1 be our best leaper. Jumper needs some work, but he has the ability to finish at the rim. His biggest asset is floor vision.

Dude is going to be realllllll good....

It will be difficult for him to be the go-to PG as a freshman. We saw Harris’ struggles. And Harris was probably more developed than Pinson is. It’s just a big jump from HS to D1.

I still think we'll add another ball handler. If not a true point then a combo guard with good handles. The Williams kid seems to fit the bill.

I watched those clips before. Not saying he's bad but what I see is a kid that will be undersized, won't see the court much unless he learns to guard (allowed a ball handler to dribble right around him 4-5 times in the limited times he was show).

Saw a couple of nice passes, very few shots and a missed dunk.

Not sure what in that tape makes one think he will step in from day one and be better than what we have seen from FRESHMEN point guards in the past. I think he will be fine in time and will help to some extent immediately.

One thing I took away from that video is I want #5 from Simeon!!!!

He’s signed with ISU. Horton-Tucker made a few visits to Columbia when KA was the coach.

No, just pointing out Horton-Tucker had been around this program a lot earlier in his recruiting. He went from borderline top 200 to a top 5 recruit from his sophomore to senior season.

Pinson is 6'2 and his only problem with size is that he's skinny. He needs work with his defense and his outside shot, but he said that he knows it and will work hard to better it. this kid is just as athletic as Horton-Tucker without his gurth. This kid has bigtime handles and a great passer with leaping ability beyond his height. I noticed that Pinson visited Wisconsin on Feb. 10th.

Martin did offer Horton-Tucker, but he was already set on Iowa St. for the longest.

Here's some highlights with Simeon vs St. Louis Chaminade. We missed out on Jericole Hellems who clowned vs. Simeon.

Most of his highlights show him using his dribble to create space for a jumper or to create a lane to the basket. Do you think he has handles to break down a "press?" The team really struggles against the press so I'm wondering is he solves that problem. I'm not questioning his athleticism or scoring.

He’s probably not strong enough yet. Maybe he will be by next February.
A big part of the Mizzou collapse against MSU is not being physical enough against the pressure.

It’s better to add another ball handler that is maybe already strong enough

He’s probably the most athletic PG in the nation. Very similar to a raw Russell Westbrook. Fantastic ball-handler, really long arms, super fast, insane hops, and great passer.

Needs to work on his shot. He will have every opportunity to start day 1.

I hope they get Trent Williams who has a nice 3 point shot and can take you off the dribble and take it to the hole with some serious hops. He seems to be a more athletic version of Robertson. He says that he shoots 500 threes everyday in practice.

I think that MPJ(Jontay said before the season that MPJ was a one and done unless he got hurt) comes back next year along with Mitchell Smith and an improved Suggs.

An improved Suggs.

It’s going to take major recruiting misses and injuries for Suggs to get any meaningful playing time.
