Extensive ties to Michigan recruiting. Let's get the pipeline going again. ETA: for Mann

So two guys who went from assistants at P5 programs to coaches at minor schools, as assistants, not head coaches. I get it. The coaches they worked for were heading out the door but it doesn't seem to be upward trending assistants.

Anyone with any thoughts on either?

Assistants move all the time I wouldn't make much of it. Between Hollender, Cuonzo, and Harris (probably DBO) Mizzou should recruit the state well. Which is a good thing, because there's lots of talent in the coming class from Missouri

I know that Mann has some pull especially in Detroit and I hope that it's more legal than Rich Daly's connections back in the Norm Stewart era.

I assume that Chris Hollander was on the UMKC coaching staff that beat Mizzou a few years ago. Teams that he coached on records seemed to get better yearly.

No Hollender went to UMKC after that season. He was the lead recruiter for Q. Weatherspoon the top player for Mississippi State

I had the same questions
Kind of takes away from the optimism breeze hitting my sail when the best most positive thing we can postulate from these two hires is a potential jump start to recruiting Mich/Detroit again. Read their resumes and honestly underwhelmed. I understand not given a pot of $$ in the asst. pool but was hoping for a little "more". However, I will still ride the wave of enthusiasm and hope we can land a group of athletic studs in recruiting as CM & MPJ can't do it by themselves.

This.

The only concern is that we used up a big chunk of assistant salary on MPS. Otherwise, I trust Cuonzo to hire his guys.

Recruiting inroads are fine but can either coach the offense?
