No. But, they're thinking too much, and because of that, playing sluggish. They're not playing to their ability, not even close. Too much thinking, being slow to get to position, could lead to missing tackles

Disagree.
Playing in a more complicated scheme, with more responsibility can certainly cause you to play tentative and maybe be a step slow and out of position.
Even allowing for what you say to be true. I dont care. Breaking it down into the simplest evaluation...we used to be good and now we suck. Lets not suck anymore.

Look at the missed tackles. My daughter could have made a few of those tackles solo. Especially against Guice on running plays. I didn't see the game and after watching part of it on youtube I could see the difference in the caliber of athletes.

missing tackles 5 yards down field means nothing. if we were talking missed tackles at the LoS that would be something different. Right now the D isn't even in position to make tackles where they need to.
