Remember when people were up in arms about the extension?

Those people weren’t very smart. There are 10 mm coaches with bigger buyouts

Good, if he loses to Scar and Kentucky again in the same year, he should be canned.

If he wins 8 or more he will probably get an extension and a raise.
6 or 7 and it stays status quo with Odom on the hot seat next year
5 or fewer and he’s gone.

I expect 7 or 8 wins.

I think we’ll go 9-3. We have a pretty good team.

Couple glaring holes but so does everyone else outside of the elite tier.

Already have 3 wins. Tennessee, Arkansas are wins. Vandy and Memphis are very likely also. That’s 7 and leaves games vs Florida, SC and UK (home). Win 2 of 3 there and we are 9-3

Win this weekend and it’s VERY likely we get at least 8

Is there anything we're not at the bottom of the SEC in?

Is it possible to win something of consequence (SEC Championship or NC) when you are at the bottom of the SEC in so many things?

Before all the yelling of "Negative Nancy", I am satisfied with BO this far, know we aren't getting $7 million coaches to come here and enjoy 6 win season, well at least half the time I do.

Coaches/Recruiting Classes/Facilities/Fan Base....is it all just too much to overcome to win the ultimate prize? Just wondering out loud (or at least on a keyboard). And yes, I know we made the SECCG and were just plays away from making the NCG but we lost and we haven't made the NCG much less won it.

By the way, if you want to talk about ROI, Mizzou might be getting a better return on their investment in BO that just about anybody short of Saban.

I don't disagree with most of those games but as crazy as it sounds, the Arky game scares me. It can be one of those games they play uncommonly good just to rain on our parade. Shouldn't happen but wouldn't be shocked.

Mizzou at its best is probably 7th or 8th in the SEC. over a couple year period Mizzou can be better, but over a 10-20 year period there are several schools that I just don’t see a way that Mizzou can be better. That is unless those schools make a KA type of hire.

Mizzou just doesn’t have the resources.

The damage that was done by Babs may never be fixed.

Yes, before Babs we were something like #25 in attendance and other metrics, we simply never had the championships that would be expected with our overall performance. I think Pinkel was close to returning us to our 60's self, but he faltered in personal life and lost his focus. Missouri is the kind of state that is never going to try to be #1 at anything, though. We just try to be above average.

Mizzou is still top 30-35 in attendance. It’s also between 10-12 in the SEC.

Unless Mizzou gets a big time donor I can't imagine they will make it to elite in any short time fashion. I think we should have recruiting up into the top 25 and then we could reliably play the elite in the SEC. I don't think there is THAT much difference once you get up so high that coaching can't make the difference.

With that said, should Mizzou invest the needed resources to be elite in football? How much longer is football going to be the main driver? It probably sounds ridiculous, but I think Mizzou should hop on the eSports bandwagon and go full tilt. We could start as a leader and bring in a whole lot of cash and potentially big time donors with the franchising that has started in esports. There is a lot of money and leadership up for grabs in the emerging esports arena.

edit: i just went really off topic, sorry

And I didn't mean elite over an extended period. I'm talking about winning one NC in my lifetime.

Which is a shame, because we have the potential to become the Oregon of the SEC.
