LINK

Of the 36 QBs with at least 100 pass attempts for Mizzou since 1960, Brady Cook ranks:
2nd in completion %
9th in yards per attempt
4th in adjusted yards per attempt
2nd in passer rating,
1st in TD/INT
1st in INT%
6th in yards per rush

amount of Short passes inflate some of these stats

I saw that tweet.

Cook is also not in the top 10 SEC QBs through 2 games in yards per game passing. So, he throws very little, and they don't go far.

Trent Dilfer has more SB rings than Marino, Tarkenton, Fouts, and Jim Kelly ...

So I guess based on that stat he was a better QB than all of them.

Solid logic in that tweet ...

I feel like those rankings are greatly inflated because he just doesn’t pass much.

I’d wager his attempts per season lag massively behind Daniel, Franklin, Gabbert, and Mauk. And I bet his effectiveness numbers lag behind Brad too.

Bazelak is the 9th all-time leading passer at Mizzou. He was a mediocre QB for 24 games for us. So I’m not sure all-time leading stats as a Mizzou QB means all that much (unfortunately).

Oh most definitely. We didn’t become a heralded passing attack until Pinkel got here. Then everyone who followed him suck the sails from the passing attack.

I won’t even credit BoDumb for Lock. He was a MU lock thru and thru and recruited by GP.

shite our offense has been depressing for damn near a decade.

I would bet that a low bar of "playing 4 games as QB" means anything outside of top 10 would be very bad.
Cook has been insanely lucky at how many potential INTs haven't become INTs.
Passer rating must be a bad stat.
I can think of 5 QB's (covering 17 years of the last 28) lightyears better in moving the offense in the last 30 years, not including Lock.

I think with a good offensive line there’s a world where cook is a serviceable qb on a ten win team, but he’s so risk adverse he wants to take 15 plays every drive and this o line will break down somewhere along the way. Drinks got a decision where it’s either horn and schraeder or cook and peat but you can’t be conservative at both positions IE cook and schraeder
