UNI is a RPI top 100 team. KenPom had this as a 3 point Mizzou win.

That 10 minute dead period in the late first half made this a game.

Well both teams had that. Mizzou jumped out to a 12-0 lead the first 5 minutes. Then got lazy & unfocused until the last minute of the half.

78 points. Encouraging. Especially considering they only had 26 or something at halftime.

Also encouraging to see a good game from Gant. He has really been struggling in the early going. He's a talented kid, he should be better than he is. Maybe he can build on tonight. 11 and 6. All the bugs played pretty well really.

A couple of hopeful, if modest, signs: NI hadn't played any powerhouses, but they were 7-0 coming in. Our boys had some great possessions, then some freshman possessions. But when NI started to close, they'd come through with a 3 or a layup to get breathing room. They clearly have more potential than last year's fiasco and they're showing overall improvement.

How the rest of the season goes???

That's what this year is about.

W/L is almost irrelevant. I would be ok with an abysmal record it it looks like they're improving and building towards something.

And they've been fun to watch the last couple of games. More minutes looking like a D-1 team...and less time looking like Special Olympians.

They really need to improve the W/L record regardless or he is gone. Plus we need to remember how absolutely awful they looked in KC against two poor teams. They were not horrible last night but have shown some pretty poor basketball this year. They need a whole lot more of NIU and a lot less of KSU this season. We are lucky in the fact that it appears the SEC is down from last year so far.

KSU beat UGA today. There are a bunch of bad teams. Especially the bottom half of the SEC. Mizzou probably gets 15 wins this year.
