My point is:
ASU refused our offer to play at Busch because they just finished a 5 million dollar expansion and this game was supposed to be the great unveiling so they expected a large crowd and as of Thursday only 20,000 were sold. so not only are we traveling to a small school, but this could be the smallest crowd in the Pinkel era.

Didn't a lot of people dump Charter after the last fiasco?

Just hook a laptop up to your tv, stream it on your laptop, success.
Everyone who gets ESPN gets ESPN3

What kind of cable do you need to do that?
Posted on 9/12/15 at 2:00 pm to semotruman
Supposedly HDMI, though I have never tried it.

Thanks. I may try this. I think I have one of these.

standard S-video would work fine if your TV only has that, as would 3 plug RCA, the resolution of your TV isn't likely going to be enough to know the difference.

Or you can just run down to Walmart, grab a Roku, load the app, try it out and if you don't like it take it back.
There's a ton of free content (especially on YouTube) and it can act as a trial bridge to cutting the cord.

Mike Kelly and Gary Link for me again on TuneIn.In theory, there shouldn't be anymore ESPN3 games until 2022 at Middle Tennesee.

those things are what.. like 20$?
if it has the wire you need to get hooked up, might be worth it for that alone.

I'd have been fine w/ this ark st 2fer if the 2nd game had been in STL,, lets hope the new AD can wheel and deal like boss Trump and get this shite worked out in the future.

Roku's are $50-100 and are worth every penny IMO.
I would go with the Roku 3 or 2 with the faster processor.
We're going to eventually cut the cord completely and recently moved to Charter from Direct to get the 100 meg internet and a chance to trial run all the local network sub-channels. So far it's been great. And I'll let you know how the stream goes for this one (Roku 3).
Once the cord is cut, I'll stream my ESPN / SEC Network via a SlingTV subscription for $25 a month during the football season and then cut it the rest of the time.
Who knows, it may not work out but the days of $200 TV-Internet bills are quickly coming to an end.

havent been to wally world in months but last time I swore I saw a Roku or something like it for 30$ NOT on sale.
I don't use SlingTV right now but what I've seen of it, those guys really know their shite at writing proxy controller apps. I'd bet you are gonna like that deal.

I use the Google Chromecast, which streams my phone ipad or laptop to my TV. works ok

HDMI is pretty common on flat screen tvs these days. Simple as plugging it in and changing your input on your tv.
SlingTV is awesome. When I get back to the states I will only have internet and not tv, cable/satellite is dead to me.

Most of these devices come in different configurations.
You might get a streaming stick for $30, I'm just not sure how well it would work. Generally speaking, the cheaper the price the smaller the processor.
I did buy an Amazon Fire Stick for $19 when it first came out and it's been great for streaming movies and watching YouTube. But I couldn't get the ESPN app to load and play on it, so I'll be kicking the wife to the man cave while I take over the living room tonight.
I'm really hoping it runs glitch-free on 100 meg internet with a high end device. If so, I'll give the Fire Stick to one of the kids and get another Roku 3 or see what the latest Apple streaming device that got released this week is all about.

it's basically just a codec, it doesn't really "process" much of anything.

Maybe they're playing me for a sucker then because they're touting 2s and 3s as having faster processors. LINK
I dunno.
