Nothing official yet.
This is hearsay.

Pinkel saying Locks performance would have nothing to do with Mauks length of suspension but then not deciding until the day after Locks start is kind of suspicious.

I have a feeling if/when Mauk does come back it will be in a supporting role to Drew Lock.

Maybe it's just the Military Sergeant thinking in me, but when a leader shows that he can't uphold standards then he needs to be removed from a leadership roll. If he wants to bounce back from his wrong doing then he'll contribute to the team by sharing his experience and helping the next guy move up to take his spot.

I have a feeling Pinkel tells Matty, if he wants to contribute to this team and make amends, he will be a backup/advisor to Drew Lock when the suspension is over.

Lock will be the starter when Mauk gets back but using Mauk in wildcat and some running capacities might be nice. would be great to use him in that capacity. that might be helpful for him for the nfl since he won't go as quarterback.

Very interesting and makes good sense too. It is a good way to avoid any QB controversy.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Hey Bass - how reliable do you think the text is?

Multiple sources confirmed that #Mizzou QB Maty Mauk's suspension will continue through the Florida game on Saturday.

It's once removed from legit. I'd put it as greater than 90% chance it's true.

Maty Mauk will be suspended through Saturday's game. I've been told he'll be suspended at least the rest of the month.

Interesting. I wonder if Pinkel is giving him a way back on the team or making time for him to figure out his next step.

Thanks

I thought this was pretty damn cool: Lock said he deleted his Twitter app last week but he put it back on his phone after the game......the 1st tweet he got was from Maty saying "Congrats bud"......people can say what they want but that was damn cool.

I don't know why my mind thinks the way it does but how many of you think MM could make a decent DB? He has speed, he hits like a train (considering his size) & he can tackle (he's had a lot of practice throwing picks.....just kidding)

Let's not forget Berk has been the absolute role model of your team player as a demoted QB.

It's a matter of whether Maty takes positive steps or negative steps forward.

I certainly like our chances more against Florida with Lock as QB. Somehow we're only 4 point underdogs.

I really want to know what Mauk did to earn a month's worth of suspension.

yea it was obvious he wouldn't clear practice this week in time to play vs FL.

Not that they couldn't have moved the time frame up if they really wanted him to play.
