Ok, I'm bored and it's dead in here so thought I'd see what y'all's thoughts are. Here's Matter's list so far. Matter's Top 30

What do y'all think of his list? Who you got? Top 30 is tough with the non-revenue sports. Not saying they're all top 30 but just trying to spitball some names. Maybe we'll get 30 of our own.

Marcus Denton for consideration? Integral part of that MU BB success run when I was in undergrad.

Schweizer or Cox should be #1.

How fast I forget. Can't believe I didn't think of Lock. I guess Gabbert. Not much of a fan here but he was tall and had a strong arm.

Good call on Woodley too.

I'd say so, especially if only counting 1998 forward.

I don’t know where he fits but Ricky Paulding is very underrated in Missouri basketball history. You can’t convince me Clarence Gilbert, Arthur Johnson, Ricky Paulding, Wesley Stokes, and Travon Bryant is the most talented roster football or basketball since I’ve been alive. That’s a complete roster that went to the elite 8 one year and took a final four team to OT in the tourney another year.

Cox will easily be number 1. He went from Mizzou to losing out on a gold medal on a technicality in a few months.

It's just kicking off of Matter's articles. He got nothing else to write about so he's going back over the time he has covered Mizzou sports, which is 1998.

No doubt that there are a ton of others that would make the top 30 if we were doing all time.

I would probably have:

1. Cox - Just can't deny his greatness. Great guy too.
2. Schweizer - Again, talking world class athlete.
3. Daniel - Just did so much to turn the program around and actually had us #1 for a brief period.

I start wavering from there. Probably Chelsea Thomas, Max Scherzer, Aaron Crow and Brad Smith in the conversation for the next spots for me.

I think as far as pro careers go, you're right. Not in their college career at Mizzou though.

Lock and gabbert will always be what ifs to me. Lock because is career was in such a bad part of Missouri football. Gabbert was completely different before and after the suh dirty play.

It will be Odom's legacy for me. Didn't do much with the greatest QB talent we ever had

Here’s one you guys are definitely forgetting.

From Track and Field (a teammate of my brother at MU, did high jump):

Christian Cantwell.

Won Silver in Beijing at the Olympics. Won gold in the Berlin World Champs. 3 Gold in the World Indoor Champs, gold and bronze in the World Champs, and gold in the Continental Cup for shot put.

4th in the London Olympics. Pretty damn successful pro career in track.
