They are, but again we have a lot of depth on the DL returning

Carnell has passed Manuel as far as I’m concerned

Carnell has been a bright spot for sure, so has Wilson and obviously Ennis. But so far they are the only underclassman to play meaningful minutes. We will lose way more talent that what has shown to be sure replacements so far.

Unless we get a ton of those to return for a 5th year, im worried.

Sounds like we're going to see a completely revamped and reenergized team out there on Saturday and we should easily take down UGA. Glad to hear that

Walker is getting a lot of playing time at DE as well. Norwood at corner.

As far as the DL goes, Jernigan and Williams will be back. Add Ford, Wesolak, Gracial to the rotation .

Defense is the least of my concerns.

It’s the offense.

Ford
This whole situation confuses me. He didn't even travel to Manhattan, and he's not dealing with injuries or anything? From a fan perspective, if Wesolak or Gracial don't see the field, I don't count them as a sure thing the following year. Too much or a unknown.

I love the offense going forward if two things change. QB play, and play calling. We can easily add another OL or 2 in the portal. WR are going to be VERY legit next year and RB group should be as good.

Guys that aren’t in the rotation don’t travel every week. They usually rotate them. Ford’s not in the rotation but will be next year.

I see zero reason for Wesolak or Gracial to leave. Both figure to be prominent pieces on the DL next year.

As for the offense, QB play is a pretty damn big question mark and it’s not answered until it is.

I said the same thing coming into this season and a lot of people scoffed. The defense is in a good place but the offense isn’t going anywhere until the OL and QB is fixed. I do like that we have started giving some of the younger OL more opportunities. I don’t understand why we’d play guys like Wood or Powell moving forward. They don’t have a future here and they aren’t good anyway. Let the young guys get experience. As for QB well that’s the massive elephant in the room. If Brady doesn’t improve significantly, which he probably won’t, he’s not a guy you’ll win a bunch of games with. Horn has the talent but how quickly will he come along? He’s very inexperienced.

reason im not to worried about QB spot is because 1) We'll get to see Horn a bit this year unless Cook quickly turns his game around. If that's the case, then I'll feel better with Cook obviously going into next year. 2) I know he struck out looking this offseason in the portal, but I find it unluckily he does this twice - getting a QB to join an offense with Lovett and Burden should be - easy.

I know its not good to compare, but seeing Vandy already ditch their week 1 QB(maybe it was injury dont know) for a true frosh who has better ratings than Brady is annoying.

Could be wrong, but Wood and Powell may have had the best PFF ratings last week out of OL.

I don't have the same faith Drink will switch qb's some of you do. Hope so. Cook seems to only see 1 receiver, and often creates QB pressure with his movement.

You have more faith than me.

Powell was hurt in the first quarter and Wood had yet another back breaking holding call on the backside of a long run play.

IIRC what would have been game winning play too?

A little off topic, but I like Carnell too. If he puts on some more weight he can move over to LB full-time. I like him at the Star instead of a safety or DB, but with his athleticism he could be a really good LB. Last year the Star was a slot CB that could play safety. This year under Baker the Star is a slot safety that can play OLB. Carnell came to Mizzou as 3* CB in a year gained 23 lbs and he is now listed 6’2” 218 lbs.

Hopper is listed at 6’2” 224, Nicholson 6’4” 231 lbs., and Wilson 6’0” 223 lbs.

He'd be best to lease ASAP

next school will give him a nice NIL, and he will be able to show his skills.

Could have been. It was late in the game and negated a 25 yard rush by Schraeder. Down to around the 20 or so. We ended up punting

The only thing stopping him is his ankle and the need to develop his skills
