I wouldn't want a young guy coming into the situation at Mizzou. I'd want a proven guy to settle things down and take full control.

Settle what down? what situation? The only people who think it's a problem are people who just enjoy judging others and can't let it go. funny how the season started with the OU video, Bob Stoops stood by his players, they lost a recruit, yet no one talks about the OU "situation."

The only "situation" I've heard about is the shitty recruiting class assembled so far, and can the next coach get that quickly turned around.

You are seriously trying to compare those two situations? One is already forgotten about and the other made national news for days.

They both are already forgotten about. The only place our stuff gets talked about is on message boards.

It's stopped being water cooler fodder after a week or so and it's long since dropped of even the back page of the newspaper.

You don't feel like it's having some negative impact? You guys know better than me so I'll trust your opinion.

I'm surprise Riley didn't get an interview. He's been an excellent recruiter for OU, and he works with QB's which after this year, Lock will need someone competent to work with him.

But with Sonny Dykes available, I guess you can throw everyone else out.

That's why I posted it.

He's young, yes, but he sounds like an offensive counterpart to Odom.

Will Odom stay if he doesn't get the job?

I doubt it. I should have said alternative.

An offensive version of Odom.

He'll be welcome at UGA when we lose Pruitt and Muschamp

Doubtful. Perhaps, but I'd be surprised.

Here's our dilemma. We want Odom to be our head coach at some point, but would prefer him to get more experience first - as a P5 DC or HC somewhere. We feel uncertain about appointing a guy who's only been a P5 DC for a year as our HC. But we don't want to lose him either. I think he was probably hired with the expectation that he'd be GP's HCIW - only no one expected GP to get cancer and retire so soon. Tough spot for Odom, and for Mizzou.

That stinks for you guys. He had Mizzou's defense humming this year.
