Apparently they weren't at the banquet and now his family is vacationing at Table Rock Lake this weekend.

Convenient.

Ah now that is interesting. I still think they would have spilled something to someone though.

I'd think that there might not be any big immediate changes for them. Dad's gone a lot now. Will still be gone a lot. Sell the house next year after graduation.

All wishful thinking.

Sounds like a pretty good weekend. Hey wait a minute... Why are they vacationing in Missouri? Don't they have lakes in kansas? There must be something deeper here.

Howland may be the smarter hire. It's hard to say how much of the UCLA issue might follow him here. But he'd be $1M/ cheaper. Might be a better recruiter and is probably as good of an X an O guy.

But Marshall will say "we're Mizzou and we're not @)&%+#>€ around."

See both would be homeruns in my book, but I think Marshall could recruit at Mizzou better then Wichita.

I'm actually hoping it is Howland. Of course I'd be just as happy with Marshall, but Howland is who I'm hoping for. I doubt it will happen though, cause I'm pretty sure Alden hates us fans.

Yeah to be honest think he just got lucky with the Pinkel hire and reaped the benefits from it.

Alden has literally only made one bad hire in the major sports. Frank Haith.

That dude wound up winning coach of the year and a shitload of games while he was at Mizzou, but that's the worst Alden hire.

Alden isn't bad. He may have gotten put together by someone on the Haith hire, but he's not bad.

Yeah I don't have much doubt about that. I'm pretty sure that's saved his arse.

He may not be bad. And I agree that Haith is his only terrible hire. But you also can't overlook that he is one bad hire away from completely wrecking the hoops program. He has to make a good hire here. He might have used his get out of jail free card on the Haith hire.

Eta: Dammit I'm talking myself in circles now. I don't know what to think anymore. I hate you Mike Alden for making us wait all weekend.

They haven't panned out right yet, but he's due. I've got faith in Alden, as misplaced as it may be.

The funny thing about the Haith hire is that he was probably the most successful in his time at Mizzou. Bad hire, decent results. We know the truth, but on paper, even Haith isn't a bad hire. Dude won National Coach of the. Year.

That's pretty strong.

To me, the guy that won coach of the year and the guy roaming the court last year are completely different animals. I thought we just might have lucked into something that first year. By the end of this past season it was like listening to nails on a chalk board.

Oh he was a lame duck coach man, no doubt he got out while he left on his terms imo.
