I think the smoke is coming from the AD as a diversion and has been since the beginning.

I think KA might be ticked about the process if he's never been seriously considered and his name keeps being brought up.

Kilgore is still convinced it is Marshall, we shall see I guess. I my heart of hearts as a mizzou fan I will handicap it 50 KA, 35 Howland, 5 Marshall, 10 The field

Either way I am excited that it is coming to a conclusion. I keep getting yelled at for being on the computer when my fiancee wants to have conversation and stuff...

I just can't see it being KA. I think the argument can be made that this is the most defining moment in Mizzou basketball history, at least during my lifetime.

Basketball was always held in the highest regard before. Anything pre-Norm is almost irrelevant because college athletics just weren't what they are now. After Norm, the basketball program was still going to be supported regardless. We were successful, we were in a conference that still valued basketball and the program was going to be supported no matter what.

Now, we are in a football conference that almost places basketball behind not only football but also baseball. Mizzou has had ALMOST more football success than it has in it's history. Bottom line is basketball runs the risk of fading into oblivion with the wrong hire.

Either we hire KA or an unknown and go the direction of Bama or LSU or we hire a big name and move in the direction of a Florida, where both can be strong. Hell, look at the enthusiasm that the right hire can do at even a place like Auburn.

It's going to be Howland

Would explain why it's been so quiet.

Missouri has had egg on it's face lately with off the field incidents. Howland is known for this as well. If Alden decided he wanted him, waiting for the BOC to approve a questionable hire would have to happen.

They do not want another Painter situation and if the BOC decides they can't go with Howland that would be exactly how it goes down. He's our next coach, oh wait, no he's not.

Couple that with Gant retweeting stuff about Howland yesterday.

(Can't tell me they haven't hinted at who would be the next coach to Gant hoping to keep him on the Missouri bandwagon)

It can't be.

That post from TB I posted here yesterday morning really opened my eyes to just how stupid it would be to hire a D2 coach to coach at Mizzou.
