In comparison with other Mizzou boards that I've visited, here are the benefits of this one, IMO:
1. Free
2. It's part of an SEC site, so offers the highest level of interaction with fans of other SEC schools
3. Has a very strong, solid group of core Mizzou posters, both from in-state, and from around the country.
4. Offers a format where posters can hold serious discussion on Mizzou-related issues, as well as mix it up with other fans on the Rant. Best of both worlds.
5. I don't know of any other site with this high a level of discussion on SEC related issues, and general sports content.
Why wouldn't a Mizzou fan want to post here?

I post here because of the SEC connection but I don't care for this format. It is hard to scroll over side conversations and follow the main topic. takes too much time to figure out who is replying to who.
I like tigerboard's format but I wouldn't cut it over there. Those guys are hard core and ruthless.

I'm not sure what you mean by this... Do you mean within the threads themselves? I find this format easier to follow than Tigerboard's. I like Tigerboard, but yes, sometimes they're pretty ruthless.

Generally, people usually click on the post they are referring or answering to. As I did your post with this reply. Just above this text, you can see the date, time and person to who is being replied.. for example, you replied to the post by semo...

It may take a little getting used to, but once you do, I think you'll find the format is easier to transverse and keep up with over other boards. It seems to be to me anyways. In any case, hope you take part more. We need more East team representation on the board.

Have you ever been to tigerboard? Those who have used it for years have come accustomed to the format. Personally, I find it difficult because an active thread could wind up on page 2 in no time. My personal preference is the format here, but I can understand why some would like the tigerboard format.

I did once when Mizzou first joined the SEC. I have been so accustomed to this format, I hardly go to any other sites, including Bama boards now.

I love this format, probably because I'm use to it.
You said Tigerboard guys are hard core and ruthless, wtf?? Do they ban a lot over there or is there a lot of trash talking?? I love this board because you have more interactions with other fans, not just SEC fans but Big Ten, Big 12, ACC, sunbelt, etc.

There is way too much doom and gloom and in fighting amongst tiger fans at tigerboard IMO. I seldom post over there.

I agre with reedus. I don't post often on Tigerboard.
There is a lot of trash talking over there, and they have what they call MOB votes. Every poster gets 10 MOB votes each day, and they use them to express their displeasure with other posters. If someone is flaming, they'll quickly be mobbed, and if they get enough votes, by enough other posters, they'll be suspended until noon the next day. Sometimes they just attack each other at will because they're bored.
It's good reading over there, but I find it tough to keep up with posts in that format.

I notice there are more and more Mizzou fans coming over. Some just don't post much, maybe trying to get the feel of other SEC fans. Do people on the Tigerboard know about about this one???
I can remember back in 2003 I was posting on another LSU board then they went to a pay format. Someone posted a link to this board and I've been over here since. Didn't know if you guys wanted tigerboard fans over here or would you get in trouble for letting them know about this site. Nice to be on a site with a lot of other fans from different areas, schools, etc.

Yeah, most of them do. Some have wandered here from there or post on both. I found the Rant from tigerboard way back with the expansion talks.

Me too. I think regular Tigerboard posters are a little intimidated by this site at first - it's big, completely different format to learn, etc. I'm hoping that activity will contiune to pick up more and more as we get closer to the season tough.

I think if Mizzou ever wins, you'll see more coming over. Much like with A&M. It wasn't until half way through the season that you saw more than a handful of A&M posters. Once they did well, others magically found the nerve to come over and post on the rant. I suspect some tigerboard/Mizzou fans will be the same way if/when MU wins some games.
