Phillips will still need to shoot some, you have to keep defenders spaced out.

I know he'll have to keep the D honest but if he's shooting more than 6 times a game, the other guys are stinking up the joint

If he's shooting the Ball efficiently it won't matter that he's taking the shots.

I have heard his goal is to shoot 40% or better from 3.

Efficiency is where Phillips, Puryear and Barnett need to really improve this season.

Sure it will. We'll need guys to knock down open shots. He can do that. He's a good shooter.

Since Mizzou has all that height, does it mean we are going to lead almost every opponet in rebounding?

Just asking because I don't follow basketball that closely.

It doesn't necessarily mean that, but we should be a good rebounding team for sure.

That's what I am hoping for! And that MPJ stays for two years.

One can dream!

Taking no shots is an exaggeration. But his mentality should be the same as his senior year in high school. "I'm gonna set assist records."

The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.

But as somebody already pointed out, these will be teenagers playing with 20-year-olds. They are going to get pushed around like they are not used to, and they are going to need to get experience.

I don't think he'll be searching his own shot much, but like I said, I do think he'll be an important shooter for this team.

That will be his mindset. Phillips took more shots the last 2 seasons than he wanted.

Because of the talent around him and improved offensive philosophy , Phillips is going to get good looks himself.

People are going to have to be a Lil patient with Jontay because his shot was falling in his last couple of AAU games so he starting to pass more to the open man, rebound and block a few shots. He even blocked a shot of the #1 2018 player in the country Bagley.
