I guess he felt like the receivers coming in we’re going to squeeze him out. It’s a shame to lose a Maclin but we’ll be OK

Yep. I doubt he had a chance of any real playing time.

Hope he ends up with a decent program

nope not a fan. I'll never support a player who transfers out before the end of their 2nd year. Call me old school, but that's a quitter. peace.

He was never going to play. Others were already getting more time and now this incoming class. Good luck to the kid.

Actually helps Mizzou. Weird rule about kids in the transfer portal still counting against the school they transfer from. I think by him doing this before the completion of the season, his school spot is gree and clear.

Saban talked about this weird rule at SEC media days.

Wasn’t going to play? This WR group is below average. He should retire or move to FCS then

He is wasting a roster spot! That is why the need to start to get better players and the team will be playing much better and winning more games!
I am now seeing the real reason for Sterk being fired and hiring the current AD. NIL is what got Drinkwitz the top recruits to commit. The AD was hired for her ability to set up NIL for the players. That is where Sterk isn't good at that and/or willing to do that.

He was wasting a spot after the year, not this year

He preserves a year of eligibility this way. He wasn’t going to be a significant piece anyway. Good luck to the young man

He plays the same position as mookie, Luper and Dom Lovett. Please tell me how you can justify siting one of those guys and playing Maclin.

Absolutely. Mookie is injured a ton, Luper is a odom recruit type talent, Lovett is starting to pull away from the rest of the other receivers along with Dove and Keke. But outside of Dove, Keke and Lovett, the rest of the WR are fighting for mediocre. Maclin, likely, is in the same grouping.

correct, for himself. im talking about from a team standpoint. I hope he does well wherever he goes, doesn't mean he quit early here.

I like Hester's potential and game. I hope he doesn't transfer.

People always forget about Hester.

He was a 4* also. Don't sleep on the guy, he has shown flashes of greatness.

I don’t get the people down on our receivers.

It’s mostly Cooper, Chism, Luper, Dove and Lovett
ETA: Hester

That’s not where we were in 2013 or 2014, but it’s not a horrible group.

Hester has probably flashed the highest ceiling of any WR this year. Not sure why he’s be a forgotten guy. He’s got length, speed and he really does a good job catching the ball. I only recall one drop, and he’s made some tough catches. Would not surprise me if he’s a starter next year.

I’d love to see what Cooper can do healthy. The medical staff knows better than me but it wouldn’t hurt my feelings to see him sit the rest of the year. He might be one of those guys that always is hurt though. He’s so small.

The WR room next year looks pretty damn good.

Burden
Lovett
Dove
Hester
Cooper
Wayne
Miller
Luper

Bannister could also come back if he wanted.
