We're rebuilding. Iowa State, Syracuse, Purdue and Middle Tenn all have better talent. Their recruiting wasn't hurt by campus protest. No matter how you slice it or dice it this is a rebuild. Those other coaches, who have their teams prepared to play, regardless of talent level, are just lucky.
That cover all your excuses Barry?

Why does it have to be an either or situation.
Talent is a problem, and so is the coaching.
If Pat Ivey had been allowed to stay by Rhoades would the offseason development and discipline have been better? Maybe that’s part of it as well.

Yes. If we let the guy stay who organized the protest, our discipline would be better. Makes sense.

Ivey was key in the development of 10 years worth of good GP teams.
Players spend way more of their offseason with the strength staff than their position coaches.

Which doesn’t address my point at all. Someone comfortable destroying a university’s reputation on their own
initiative isn’t going to be responsible for discipline. Dance around that with something about Byers and Whiteside.

I’ve missed what this agenda Ivey had was.

The point is those teams year in and year out recruit mediocre talent, but they have coaches that prepare their teams regardless. Prepared teams have good things happen. Mizzou is not suffering a crippling lack of talent, nor protest hangover, the team is ill prepared, unfocused and not inspired. There is a clear difference in the gap in coaching ability. Dino Babers gave an inspired speech, BO gave a self excusing tantrum.

Were you blissfully unaware of his role in the protest?
Posted on 10/14/17 at 10:49 am to the808bass
Him having a role in the protest is not the same thing as having an agenda.

Yeah. That’s not how life works.
