And hey, we didn't call a fake punt on 4th and 13 in the wrong end of the field. Another positive. Seriously though, I still don't remember questioning any play calling. The closest I'm coming to that is this artificial requirement that Mauk play every game. Do it when the time and circumstances allow for it. I felt they put him in during bad situations or times of the game against Toledo.

nope it is good

Either way, 2 of sacks came against Mauk

yes they did. MM was the QB and he got sacked. I doubt the Oline said Frick it we are not going to block for this guy.

The run game was already covered

great. I mention it because it points to the overall play of the Oline.

I mentioned it because it helps make my point that the line is weak

My point is this year the play of our Oline and Dline will be the death of us. I simply do not see the positives that most on here see. I wish I did. I just don't.
Gonna be a long year on my liver (again).

Somehow I don't know whether it matters who was in the backfield, they still sacked who was back there.

An they were not always rushing 5 to 6 guys whent hey were pressuring him out of the pocket or sacking him or whoever. Mauk went like what, one series? There was a reason for that.

Still I think it is matter of time before they start to click together. It's the D-line that worries me alittle still.

I'm worried plenty about them as well. We have plenty of skill players. It is in the trenches we are still weak compared to the teams in our conference.

I am more concerned about the defensive line than the offensive line. I think the OL will gel. But the defensive line has to find a way to get more pressure. Now, red zone defense has been good though.

Then go back and watch the series. MM moved into the pressure and held the ball way too long. That isn't all the OL. It also matters it was MM because opponents will play him like Berk last year. Blitz the house, play man outside and don't give him time to do anything because he is too young to make the right reads.

Toledo didn't get any pressure rushing 4 guys on passing plays.

On the Oline also have to remember we have a true sophomore playing center for the first time. Making reads is still new to him as is calling protection. My biggest concern is the DLine as well. The pass rush in particular.
