Rhoades approached Fuente about the Mizzou job, he wasn't interested.

The protest chased a lot of coaches away. Otherwise maybe a coach like Fuente or Taggart would have been interested.

I know there were rumors at the tall me that Rhoades had offered at least 1 coach around 5 million/year, and was turned down.

Or BO really wanted the job and was the best Mizzou could get.

One of the top targets has started his stay at Baylor 0-2

Was never a fan of Rhule.

Pelini is a winner. I'll take 8-10 wins a year.

I think Pelino would be a solid hire. Hes got a Natty as a SEC DC, his Nub teams would run through walls for him. He was a solid recruiter and he would be quite a character. My only issue was he dragged Carl along with him.

Rhule did the same, only at a school that's never won at that level.

Winning 8 games a year at Nebraska is probably about the same as winning 6 a year at Mizzou.

Absolutely and that's the danger, but if Odom doesn't get this turned around soon we simply aren't going to have a choice.

We are basically hoping to get lucky at this point. Either Odom pulls a rabbit out of the hat, or we hit on a relatively unproven coach with the next hire.

I'm all for Pelini though if it comes to that. He's been a consistent winner and he'd win here as well. Just need to pair him with a quality OC.

I still find it hard to believe that the situation at Baylor isn't far worse than at Mizzou. Which leads me to believe Rhule was never offered the Mizzou job.

I think at the time of the hire, the Mizzou situation looked worse. Baylor's situation got worse the more people found out.

Mizzou would be smart to nab Iowa states young coach from toledo. They have a he'll of an offense and had the hhawkeyes down double digits in the 4th quarter. The cyclones qb and defense let em off the hook

Why is it ok for Campbell to lose but not BO?

Both coaches took over at schools that had a losing record the previous season.

That's also a rivalry game. Let's see how they play in conference.

He's 4-10 there.

Mizzou tried to get Campbell, He and his wife visited Iowa State and fell in love with the atmosphere. He never gave Mizzou any consideration.

I heard the same thing. Wonder if he's still happy now that he's there?
