I think a future matchup in a marquee venue is what against a perceived national power is what this team needs right now. It helps offset the notion that the East is weak and helps us keeps root inTexas.

How is Baylor a "national power" more than Mizzou? They play in a much weaker conference and have only been good for a few years.

Next you'll be telling us that South Carolina is a national power.

There's about 50 other teams I'd rather see Mizzou play in JerryWorld than Baylor.

Notre Dame at soldier field

Nebraska in KC still makes sense to me.

Put Notre Dame in STL and I could buy in, although beating them up in their recruiting grounds could help with recruiting the Chicago area.

Id rather play a random team out of the West in the Georgia dome.

I'd rather play Oklahoma in Jerry World.

I said "perceived". I agree that they are not a true national power. But right or wrong Baylor has a better perception nationally than Mizzou

The reason I chose Baylor was because of comments made by Pinkel on Finebaum show and his thoughts on scheduling. In my opinion he basically said he likes to schedule Power 5 teams with the idea he schedules teams he could beat. I believe Baylor is a program we could beat while still having the brand that resonates nationally.

I could see Mizzou scheduling Baylor. We have two open dates in 2016 that need to be urgently filled. However, we already have one BigBevo conference team, West Virginia in 2016.
The bigger question is if Baylor would voluntarily schedule a tough OOC opponent. That is something they never do.

Baylor would be fine. If rather play OU in Dallas though.

That's why I also picked Baylor, knowing they have an extremely easy OOC schedule. I would think the idea of playing an top tier SEC team without having to face a Alabama would entice them as well. We have already heard the talk from Indiana on how they use that victory in recruiting.

I would like a game such as an OU or Notre Dame as well. But I don't think Pinkel will sign off on a Blue Blood program. His comments from Wednesday validated to me that he wants 4 wins more than a substantial challenge out of OOC. From his point of view with money tied into wins and the new CFP maybe he doesn't need to schedule hard.

I say frick these neutral site games.
Everyone is putting a zillion dollars into their stadiums, which are already only used 6 times a year.
And now it's a trend to give away a home game? F that.
College towns, and college campuses are too awesome to throw away home games at neutral site NFL stadiums.
We, the fans are supposed to push back against this shite.
It only exists because it makes the 1% money.

I agree but we need to play 1 game in KC or STL at least once every 2 years, mainly to secure our boarders. invite tons of HS kids in those areas.

That would be so badass, but it would be 90% Notre Dame fans. The most unfortunate part about the Chicago area is the amount of Notre Dame fans. I would definitely go to this game though. Only 4-5 hour drive from STL.

I don't disagree with your sentiments but I'm just spitballing ideas that could help our program overall. The current trajectory of college football makes the OOC neutral site game so important, mainly because of the media in my opinion.

Wasn't directed at you, just a platform to let out my opinion out on neutral site games.
