Chip Lindsey. Current OC at Southern Miss and has also spent time on staff at Auburn. Background as a QB coach. They went from 8th in Total O in their league to tied for 1st in his 1 year there gaining about 150 more yards per game. Also more than doubled their rushing output with Lindsey at OC. has spent time under Monken and Malzahn. Two pretty good offensive minds. Recruiting ties in the South.

Thoughts?

He was offered the EKU HC job turned it down. Monken wants to keep him, but mentioned that they can't compete with the SEC deep pockets.

He also just turned down the EKU head job and is said to be receiving interest from SEC teams.

Could be us?

I prefer Heupel only because he is a proven QB coach and Lock really needs that this year or we lose our best pure QB talent that I can remember.

Turning him into Bradford puts us in the playoff.

Brother is the new HC at USCw.

Also Odom has a brother that's in an analyst/admin role at WSU. Was at Houston before that. Could be a name that may join the staff in some sort of role.

I agree that a proven QB coach is a must. Also Agree Lock is that good.... I think we write this year off..... When you have more sure TD's dropped, then actually completed. Then throw in a non existent running game, and a OL that at it's best, was average. I don't care who the QB is, you would still lose. Fix the above, and throw in a QB proven coach..... Lock would be more then ready for opening day.

Now with the money they saved, from hiring Odom. They can afford to go out and drop some cash on the OC, DC, and supporting staff.

I'm fine with most of the Pinkel hold overs.

I'm curious what we end up with.

I've heard that if we whiff on our first few options at OC that chip lindsey could get a look. I dont' really know anything about the guy.
