I see Gatti at LT second team all year long but never see him out there.

I think Nick has. There is a reason you dont see more of him.

I mean not to be blunt or anything, but there is a reason we are playing a Freshman and a walk-on ahead of some of these guys. Then playing them in several positions pn the line as well. If they cant get in on even one spot, then it tells you where they are. Kind of frustrates you because we have the bodies for depth there, its just alot of them are not panning out so we can only really play 5 guys. Idk if it is lazyness or they really are busts but I wish somebody would light a fire under their arse

Sounds to me like a problem recruiting or coaching them up. I know it's tough getting a read on high schoolers but that's kind of their job. Find out if they have a lazy work ethic, have they topped out already etc...

At Alabama, they'd be processed....

They would find out their junior year that they were suddenly being sent a Tuition bill.

Problem is a guy like Demien was a legit 4 Star recruit and sometime players just bust, SEMO is right at Bama he would get his walking papers by now, Pinkel as has been said is loyal to a fault. I also wonder how scholosrships like the one they are honoring with Hill go, does that count against our limit??

IMO, they aren't getting fair chances. I think the staff decides during practices who they feel the #1 option is and then it is over at that point. It doesn't seem like the backups get enough reps in practice once the season starts. I don't think this stuff understands what a "gamer" is even after last year when Josey, who is not a great practice player, went out and proved he is hte best RB on the team because of injuries.

Bad recruiting and coaching. You have over 14 OL on scholarship and only 8 can play. That is 56% on OLineman. Not a good recruiting percentage.
Put these guys out there and see if they have some fire and potential. It could get worse but not much.

Yeah something is wrong when you literally can't play some of these guys.. recruiting was bad or the coaching hasn't done its job.
Since I believe we now have a great o-line coach, I'm not going to blame the coaching.
Remember.. this staff saw Josey as the #3 RB last year.
What if they're just not assessing some of these younger linemen properly.. idk.

Having 14 OL Schollies vs 22 WR Schollies is a huge issue, priority has not been the LOS and look what it gets you aka see Arky this year same thing

We better start recruiting more DL and LB's and less Db's also. No need for all the DB's we offer. We will not be seeing alot of 5 wideout formations in the SEC. Except when we play TAMU

That might be a good idea but the SEC teams so far haven't been able to run on MU's D. They have pretty much reverted to Big12 football (except for vandy, who still had to pass) to beat MU. The book is out on MU's D, we can't cover the pass. Might need all those DBs because SEC teams are smart enough and good enough to attack the weakness even if it isn't their strength.

Our Dline looks flat out gassed by the 4th quarter. We desperately need depth in that spot.

Yep and I don't really feel like any help is coming soon. Hell I don't even know if we took any dtackles in the last recruiting cycle. Plus Antar won't be making grades likely, so we won't see him for a few years. Mizzou football looks to be on the decline, but I hope I'm wrong

Evan Winston? Harold Brantley? Winston was listed as DE during recruitment but I thinking he is at DT while at MU. Both look to be solid gets so far in practices/scout team work.
AJ Logan is a mountain and he WILL be here even if antar doesn't make it.

A huge part of this is the time of our offensive possessions. Three-and-outs don't give much time for the defense to catch their breath. Especially in the up-tempo, no-huddle, quick-strike offense we allegedly run.

Amen. This defense is a top 10, maybe top 5 defense nationally if it had an offense that could give them a rest. The offense doesn't need to score drastically more points for this team to get much better. If they could just get 20-30 yards every drive and burn clock before kicking it would make a huge difference and our D would probably be throwing shutouts.
