oversigning isn't allowed the SEC.

Yes but I'm talking about signing 25 even if you know some of those kids will not be on the team in 2 years. Right now were taking like 19-22 kids every year. If they allow 25, we should take 25 no matter of our current roster situation

I agree with you - we need this for depth. It seems like we're deep enough in 2 spots this year - WR and LB. Every other position could use more depth. Kids leave the program for various reasons. We know this is going to happen. So there is no excuse for not having scholarship players to take their place.

are there not currently 85 players on scholarship? Where are the unfilled spots you guys are speaking of?

Because we have former walkons that are taking the spots from kids no longer in the program. Prime example, we have a former Walkon now starting on our offensive line, which is unacceptable and pathetic

It's unacceptable and pathetic if they aren't good enough. Tommy Saunders is a great example of a walk-on who turned out to be a very valuable part of the team and well-deserving of the scholarship he received.
And in the example of the walk-on now starting on the offensive line, my question is this. Is he one of those deserving walk-ons who could beat out the 4-star scholarship players? Or do we have a poor evaluation of talent? Or just some major busts on the OL?

Which part is unacceptable? The fact that a former walk on is starting on the o-line or that he was given a schollie?

Copeland definitely deserves his schollie. He is the strongest OL on the team despite being the smallest.

This. Demien had offers from Bama and FSU so we weren't the only ones that thought highly of him.

I guess really just the fact that he is starting on the o-line and we didn't have the depth behind him in scholarship players to step up. I know we've gotten screwed this year in injuries but I feel like we should be deeper than this after Pinkel being here for 10 years. Granted Freeman and Demien have been enormous busts up to this point.
I'll just digress and say I really do believe we should sign as many kids as we possibly can even if that means some will not be in the program in a few years. Nature of the beast in the SEC if we want to compete
