He is not the coach that will get this program over the Final Four hump.

Greetings from Southern California...

Hey Flamma Conicio whom I have never seen on this board. Welcome to our board there in SoCal.

I think Haith gets a hall pass for this year. If he doesn't drag in a bunch of ragtag transfers, we start NWC, Jank, and Rosburg for most of the season. I don't think 20 wins and a tourney would have been in the picture.

If the results from next year are the same, then the calculus changes.

Last year bought him some time to get his guys and tweak his system. I have no problem with him being here for the foreseeable future, I just don't think he will guide us to a FF.

Aside from kicking Dixon off the team, it seems as though he never really was able to assert him self as the one true leader of the program. Seems this group didn't buy into him.

I can't imagine he was telling Pressey to dribble down the floor and shoot three's every night. Just seemed as though Pressey did what he wanted, and the rest of the guys on the floor followed his lead.

Norm probably would have benched most or all of the starting 5 at some point in the season.

He didn't kick Dixon off the team... the University gave him the axe. Haith let him go to the Bahamas knowing full well that he was in some serious trouble.

Good point. Forgot that he traveled with the team to Atlantis.

I just don't think he had a team that bought in this year.

Agree. Team didn't bring it.

I'm not real high on Haith, but at least he doesn't lack effort. Guy burns more calories in a game than Oriahki and Brown combined.

I'm not calling for his head yet, but if this is becoming the overall opinion of him (and it's starting to be) especially with Alden...why even keep him around.

I tend to disagree. Far too many times I seen Haith sitting on his arse during bad runs, or not even calling a key timeout. The Haith I want to see, and see it consistently is the fired up and intense Haith during the arky game at home.

You may be right but I want to give him a few more years. Lets see what he does with talent he gets to recruit out if HS instead of a bunch of transfers like he had to do.

I think the OP is apt. It doesn't call for Haith's firing. It says he's been exposed, and I'd agree with that. Many of his weaknesses I think were exposed this year. Having said that, I hope he acknowledges it and improves/learns. I can understand it is more difficult with transfers than with guys coming in as freshmen that you can mold or influence more so than someone who's already gone through that and you only have for one year.

Definitely. Against a coach like Eustachy, he was especially exposed.

We'll see if he can come back better next year, but I think the team is pinning a lot of hope on Jordan Clarkson being able to play a big role.

The real question is does Pressey come back next year. And in what role?

Does he come back to be a Tiger or come back to improve his draft stock? And if it's the latter, will Haith die on that hill?

I remember seeing Jarrett Sutton say he thought Pressey was 60/40 to leave. As maddening as Pressey's play was at times, I just can't see that team making the tournament next year without him.

I'm sure he will enter his name and see what teams have to tell him. It's a pretty weak PG class too.

I just so don't see his game translating to the NBA. Can't guard and can't shoot. Really wasn't bowled over with his quarterbacking a half court offense either. He was best on the break.

I don't see it either, but everything, including his defense, looked so much better last year. I don't think he was ready or capable of handling how much responsibility he had this season.

He might find a role as a backup PG that isn't expected to do too much.
