It may have been his decision but the coaches went to him about the position change.

That’s not what has been said.

It's been said in more than one article.

So when several coaches — Gibbs, Barry Odom, Ryan Walters and Derek Dooley — presented Floyd the idea of playing cornerback before spring practices started, he had one response.
“I just want to get on the field.”

"They asked me if I wanted to make the transition," Floyd said Thursday after Missouri's third spring practice. "I was like, I'm open to helping the team in any way. So that's what I did."

It speaks more to the skill depth IMO.
I don't disagree. But I will also say that based on what has been shown to date, there's not a starter I'm excited about. Maybe in time they will develop into a defender one feels they can rely on.

I'm excited to see what Holmes and Acy develop into under Gibbs. He knows how to coach CBs and the guys he is inheriting aren't short on athleticism.

What? Acy was second team all SEC. Holmes played very well once he got in the starting role. Gilllespie certainly flashed at times. Bledsoe was solid. Our starters are good in the secondary. The depth remains to be seen, and that’s what presents Floyd the opportunity.
He’s not beating out Acy or Holmes, but he could pass up Petry or Sparks or Ware. It’s a better opportunity for them.

My bad. I stopped pumping the sunshine again. Let me try again.
Our starting defensive backfield is all world. I can't think of any other players I'd rather have. I have all the confidence in the world that any time the opposing QB drops back, we're going to get blanket coverage with the occasional INT.

Acy and Holmes should be good. We have no depth though so they better not get injured, and we aren't going to get pressure on the QB so we gonna need that blanket coverage.

Sigh
You realize there is something between “everyone sucks” and “everyone is awesome” right?

Yes. But all the sunshine pumpers take that to mean you're a nega-tiger. Not necessarily you I'm speaking of.

My take on the secondary is that the starters are actually pretty good. Especially our corner group. Probably one of the best in the conference.
Need to develop some depth for sure though.

Floyd took a big hit against Tennessee and maybe he has a problem taking a hit.
I’ve seen it in baseball were hitters have a hard time standing in the box. Flinching almost every pitch and spinning when they think a ball is to close.
He probably still loves the game, but might be a little gun shy.

If true, not sure it's good for a position where you hope to see him laying some hits. I guess a bit different because you know it's coming because you're laying the hit.

Surprised thread has had such legs...A non-descript WR to hopeful non-descript DB, seems to be forcing desperate hope or chat. MEH

Jalani Williams got hurt last week and just had surgery and will now miss all spring practices. That hurts!

Well, the BO sucks threads have died down so we have to have something to discuss
Posted on 3/13/19 at 6:50 pm to JesusQuintana
He won't suck again until the Scar game

Ergo, we discuss the merits of moving a 3rd string WR to CB until then
