Remember the play where Micah Wilson faked the hand off to the running back, and then sailed around the right end untouched for a touchdown? UConn swarmed to the running back because they probably thought Drew Lock was still in the game.

They should be giving Wilson a series a half as a change of pace and to prep him.

If the coaches thought that Lock was go pro after this year, it’s possible that would be happening.

I wish they would, because I think there is a pretty good chance that Lock will be leaving.

I also like Wilson and would like to see more of him.

Powell might be Heupel’s chosen replacement for Lock. He’s traveled with the team more than once, which most redshirting players don’t do.

I've thought this from Day One and would love to see Heupel's offense here with his handpicked quarterback versus one he inherited. My guess is there are portions of his playbook he can't use with Lock that he would with Powell.

WHAT exactly is the skinny on Powell? Honestly don’t know much about him.

They say that the staff has been very impressed with Powell and they thought that if Foster wouldn't have decommitted that he might not have beaten Powell out as the #1 qb in when Lock leaves.

C'mon all, isn't really too early to start up the sunshine pump for 2018??

Micah Wilson was only recruited after we hired Heupel correct? Could be off on that, but I'm pretty sure he was a guy that Heupel wanted.

I guess Powell could be next in line, but I doubt it. Heupel ran a lot of read option type stuff before he got here. That's not really Lock's game, but Wilson is built for that. He's a very good athlete with a very good arm. He's talented.

Powell was a late flip from Wake Forrest, after Huepel had been here a year. The original QB from ESTL flipped to WMU.

Huepel has adjusted his offense based on his QB. Landry Jones didn’t run any read option, Trevor Knight run plenty.

Right. I get it.

Wilson is just the more talented player who has the advantage on time in the system and will have some game time when the job comes open.

To me, he's the overwhelming favorite to be the next guy up but we'll see.

Wow, the BOback mountain boys have turned this thread into an official circle jerk. Clean up the grounds when you all are done sharing each others premature pump.

Powell played in high school with Byers and one of the walkon receivers.

How many times have you let another man piss in your mouth? I'll start the O/U at 8.

Your retorts have regressed below juvenile. Whatever boy, don't be mad you lost your turn in the Circle J. Just swab the decks clean from their fun deckhand.

24-20 Mizzou just to be safe. Odom has about the best slate of games to save his job and I hope he does and I hope he’s learned something by now. If he gets the defense to gel enough just to be average, we could be looking at an 8-10 win season next year with most starters returning for the 2nd straight year.

Optimistic of course, but Lock isn’t leaving after this year IMO and I don’t see anyway the defense gets even worse. I’m not the biggest Odom fan but the way they’ve played the past 4 games showed me the team hasn’t given up.

You obviously enjoy letting other men use your mouth as a toilet. I bet you are the most popular twink in Hillcrest.

O/U now at 60.

Please put more effort into your feeble insult attempts.

While I agree with this, the defense still gives up too many big plays, especially on 3rd down. If we lose against Florida, I suspect this will play a role. Of course I hope we win out and get a decent bowl game (for us). I hope I am wrong, but ultimately, I just don't see Odom the man for the job. Sterk will have a tough decision to make if Odom finishes strong, anything under 6 wins and we should cut our losses and move on.
