You know, I've supported Mike Alden for years. When others took shots at him, I defended the man. I know him, not well, but enough that I respected his leadership. As of today, that is over.
Not because of Anderson, though I am disappointed in the hire. I think Anderson is a good man, and loves Mizzou. But with the money at his disposal, Alden should have been able to make a more exciting, fan-energizing hire.
I think Alden has done some great things for Mizzou, not the least of which was getting us into the SEC. But I believe he's over his head at this point and needs a greener pasture. And Mizzou needs a power broker who can deliver results - in on-field performance, off-field standards and big-time hires to deliver those measurables. Alden is not a man to take big or bold steps, and we need that in an AD right now.
So, support.

We can't let this guy ruin the football program, we just can't. With the loss of DGB it looks like that's already began. Man this school is snake bit.

Alden totally reminds me of Carl Peterson. While he was the man for the Chiefs they just never would pull the big move they needed (minus Montana). He let championship caliber teams rot under cheap QB's and even cheaper kickers. Alden makes bad hire after bad hire and just cannot motivate Mizzou programs to national prominence. He is happy just being one the pact not a stand out leader. He cannot and I repeat CANNOT be the man to hire Pinkel's replacement.
