Have a hard time getting mad at Anderson. Who the hell blames him for taking the job. No brainer from his perspective.

I am, however, officially done with Alden and Mizzou basketball. Alden needs to be fired. Now. Before Pinkel retires. I do not trust his arse one second to hire the next football coach.

Can we get an actual petition going? I am all for it. Slap in the face to the current students and program. This is NOT a hire that will excite ticket sales.

I have yet to hear terms of the contract. Hopefully it's just a 1 year thing to hold Greg Marshall's spot. Wishful thinking I know. I support the petition. #FireAlden

We are literally the laughing stock of college basketball at this moment. Look at some of these tweets.

It should be noted that Mizzou hired a coach that it could've hired 11 days ago AFTER a recruiting weekend that could've been beneficial.

Also: Mizzou now has a rookie Division I head coach who doubles as the oldest coach in the SEC. That's pretty hard to do.

Fairly certain Mike Alden just shelled out about $50K to a search firm to hire ….. Kim Anderson.

Beyond wishful thinking. No coach would ever do this. Anderson gets at least three years unless Alden gets fired after a disaster year from Anderson which is very possible.

Reedus, the first sentence from you is fire, fill in the blank. You don't know who his staff will be, you don't even know who will be on the team. Am I excited about Anderson as the new coach? Not particularly but I can see potential upside. The first thing he offers is stability and a passion for Mizzou. If he keeps Fuller and Tibaldi (sp?)brings in Johnny Parker and AP( a bit risky ) he has his recruiters. I have no doubt about his ability to coach. Norm was not known for his recruiting but he hired assistants he could. I think we will know quickly who his staff will be. Take a step back and give it a week or so.

Painter was the apple of everyone's eye the last time and he has fallen flat on his face. Only time will tell if this proves to be a good hire.

What? My thread title says Fire Alden. Not Anderson. I didn't create the petition. I have a real concern that Alden will see fit to hire a DII football coach when GP retires. I don't want to see that happen. So Alden needs to go. Not like he hasn't already generated detractors.

Being told a lack of guaranteed $ and Mike Alden were factors in ending up with Anderson. He was not the only coach offered the job.

Your post is to fire Alden because of the Anderson hire. You didn't put the petition together but you promoted it.

So no one will work for Alden. We're back to "Fire Alden."

We were paying Haith $1.6M. If you can't find someone to work for you for that amount, you're the problem. Fire Alden.

But it's not just because of the Anderson hire.

Because I think Alden needs to be fired. Not because it's Anderson. The name doesn't matter. It's the fact that I don't want Alden hiring a DII coach for the football program. He needs to go NOW.

If Anderson had been coaching D1 with multiple tourney appearances, Final Fours, then I'd be fine with Anderson. Has nothing to do with Anderson the person. Has to do with no D1 experience and if Alden deems that acceptable what's to say he won't deem it acceptable with football.

He did, he hired a coach from Toledo, thank God it worked out. the next one won't be so fortunate. Toledo is D1 but theyre in the MAC.

One of my biggest problems with this hire is that, with the exact same coaching resume, he does not get hired if he is not a "true son." He is not even considered without past relations to the program.
