If it comes down to RZ execution then I like Pribula's chances to win the job. He has more experience down there obviously, and Horn's arm advantage isn't as noticeable down there.

I don't think so. It's a long season, and Pribula will get plenty of PT, whether he starts or not.

I agree with you. Horn is a good all around athlete. I dont think he'd be a statue in the pocket and should be able to fit throws into coverage when the field gets short. I just dont know if it will prove to be more efficient than what Pribula's legs offer.

Offensive Line Shaping Up

Sounds like Hardy is as advertised.

Richardson, Green, Tollison, Giudice, and Trost are the #1s after week 1.

Saturday QA with HCED

Let’s get this season started! Solid O line play with a salty defense…

The HC saying "its good when you aren't noticing the left tackle" can be viewed as a big positive. Brian Early generally has a productive room. If the LTs are holding up against his two deep, they should be ready by the end of the month.

I feel like it’s always hard to tell what we really have until the games start. I’m just ready for the season to begin. I’m also loving watching the stadium construction come along. I think it’s going to look pretty awesome when it’s filled in.

When do they start building the NE corner?

They're probably leaving it open for a clear path to Harpos, with the goalpost, after our Bama win.

Im bullish on the defense. Early really likes his two deep. It could be 2013/2014 good.

They might have 3 guys rotating at each LB spot.

Iron sharpens Iron and if the line Jones puts together is handling the defensive front 7 in camp, the running game will be stout, especially in November.

They've been poring a lot of concrete lately around the NE corner. I think they are finalizing the access point to the field level area under the M. I read somewhere that the NE iron should start going up sometime over the next couple of weeks. I guess once the concrete work is done there they can start putting up the steel structure. I hope it is mostly up by the kansas game, because EFF their stadium updates.

inside the stadium

This is from the middle of July. If they are pouring the east side at ground level they are making great progress.

Jim Sterk really sucked at his job. Not having seating connecting the east and west sides was a terrible decision. Every decision he tried to make was a cheap one.

The depth at LB and safety might be my favorite aspect of this team, without having seen them play yet. Not only should our kick coverage benefit, but I'm hoping the depth translates into more explosive defensive reps, resulting in negative plays and turnovers.

Of the 5 LB/S positions, it's sounding like we have over a dozen guys that Batoon is comfortable with on the field. Blitz packages for these guys could be lethal, combined with our DE talent. Let's hope that translates into turnovers.

Blitz packages

This was something that was missed last year and was a departure from what Batoon did at his last stop. The pressure rate, sack rate, and explosive play allowed rate were all bottom 1/4 in the league. I hope he goes back to creating havoc with the second level defenders .

I'm with you 100%. Being able to throw a missile at the offensive backfield from all angles will only open up more 1-on-1s for our havoc players upfront. Jacobs and Rodriguez seem like perfect fits for that job, coming off the bench.

I thought he went square peg round hole with the LBs last year. The entire group had 18 TFLs in 2024. Hicks and Newson combined for 18 in 2023. The room had 25 with Bailey and Hopper hurt most of the season. I hope he is more aggressive this year.
