I grew up a huge baseball fan. But since I grew up in AL there was really no team to cheer for (I was never a Braves fan for some reason). Thus, I just followed individual players much more than teams.

See some playful banter between the fan bases here, and just wondering what the relationship is like.

Personally I have no problem with Kc fans, just live on the other side of the state.

Apparently Cards fans don't mind Royals fans but Royals fans can't stand Cards fans. Personally, I'm a Cards fan first and foremost but I've always thought of the Royals as my AL team.

Think of it this way. Bama is to Auburn what the Cards are to the Royals. Maybe not as much hate, but general gist. Of course, I've only come to learn of this in the relatively recent past.

Not trolling at all... swear to God.

As an outsider to the whole thing, it's very kansas/Mizzou-ish.

The good team shits all over the underachievers, and talks shite whenever the underachievers have any hope for the future or confidence in their team.

Not nearly as much hate. They don't really play each other that much

That's kinda what I was wondering. Does the one fanbase generally support the other or is like an UA/AU thing where most of the fanbase would support any team over the other (I assume it is somewhere in-between but didn't know where on the spectrum it landed).

We forget they're there.

Every moment of their lives is consumed with thinking how overrated/lucky we are.

I root for both teams, but Royals are my team, if they face the Cardinals. I spend enough money on Mizzou apparel, so none goes to pro team clothing.

Probably a mixed bag. Like I said, I root for the Royals myself, but apparently there are many out there where it has to be either/or and it can't be both.

I would say neither. They are in different leagues. Lot's of jabbing and bickering when they mix.

I'd say Cards fans root for the Royals in the AL, especially if they're doing something. Like you cheer for your kid brother in little league.

I'd guess the Royals fans would rather drink bleach than watch our annual playoff chase.

This is fun.

There is no doubt Royals fans are annoyed by Cardinal fans when they think about it. Which isn't that much

As a Cardinal fan, I don't ever give any thought to the Royals.

As a Jayhawks fan, I don't ever give any thought to the Tigers.

c'mon. It's so not the same. Although now that we are in the SEC I don't think about Kansas that much and it is awesome

Considering the Cardinals > Royals and the Jayhawks > Tigers (in basketball), that seems quite predictable. Good observation. The situations are pretty similar.

I don't either, and I'm not involved in any of these outside rivalries being from Chicago. I will say that Cards fans to act a lot like kansas fans during the whole thing though. The whole superiority thing is very beakerish.

Admit that the Cards should have superiority over the Royals is akin to saying the Jayhawks should have superiority over the Tigers.

It may be true in both cases, but those on the other side will always hate you.

It's obvious, but the way you handle the superiority doesn't have to make the oppsition hate you.

Cards fans like using the success against the Royals, yet the same Cards fans will get all cock bent about the beaker bitches doing the same.
