Drink really sounds like a dipshit in this postgame presser

I’m still optimistic about the future but his answers about the QB situation are just so terrible and completely out of touch with reality. They don’t even make sense.
As long as we can keep Bazelak away from Drink we should be fine, but that’s a losing combo

Crib notes version??

Basically he didn’t pull Baze because he doesn’t want his QBs to think that “one mistake” means they are coming out of the game.
Alot to unpack there, but obviously total bullshite devoid of reality.
Then he says that he brought in Cook to “see what he could do for us” but he brings him in to hand the ball off when the game is already well in hand.
He just sounds dumb and I guess that’s the only way you can sound when you are trying to justify dumb decisions

For whatever reason he has misplaced loyalty with Bazelak and needs to figure it out.

I'm trying to figure out the worst recent starting qbs in Missouri's past 15 years and he is the worst qb since Corbin Berkstresser. Corbin was given the shortest of the short leashes by Pinkel.
This kind of stuff is troubling especially when the players, staff, and obviously the fans already know it.

I am thinking there are residual locker room issues. There has to be with the makeup of the team (Odom leftovers).
I am still very high on Drink, but I think he needs an OC or high level analyst on that side of the ball. The play calling today was disturbing.

What plays would you have called with a QB like that?
I just don’t understand this criticism. It’s not the plays. It’s not the offense.
It’s the damn QB that even at his best can’t push the ball down the field and at his worst literally can’t do anything.

I’m a CB fan but his play especially last night didn’t warrant seeing the field after the 1st quarter; and it couldn’t have been good for CBs confidence. Am disappointed Drink didn’t pull him. Drink’s loyalty is Pinkel level. I would have loved seeing what Cook could have done.

Except Pinkel understood giving the second string QB a series a game or a half could be a good thing.
1. It gives a defense more to prepare for.
2. It can spark an offense stuck in the mud.
3. It better prepares the understudy to assume the lead role.
4. It helps pacify reserve QBs from entering the portal.
The only reason not to do this is your starter is just that good. Pinkel understood the benefits outweighed any bruised egos. And by making it known from the begining all of his QBs (Franklin, Mauk, Lock) thrived.
If Drink had done this there wouldn't be talk of all three possibly leaving and he may have more than 6 wins.

Fair point on giving the backup a series or 2.

Are you watching Michigan gut Ohio State rotating two quarterbacks?
Drinkwitz has the tools under center to get production from the position if he'd just manage his resources.

I would have enjoyed seeing the TEs get more action. If we are determined to go with a guy who has minimal downfield ability, at least be creative with crossing routes.
Cannot believe we had designed runs for Ballsack. That literally pissed me off.

If Macon had the passing game I agree but TBH I’m not a big fan of playing 2 QBs

You didn't like how Pinkel would give the understudy a series a game or half in the early 2010's?

How Pinkel gave the backup a series or 2 isn’t playing 2 QBs. No I’m a fan of giving the backup a couple of series if the game allows.

Pinkel only did that to groom next year starter. He would not have done that when his starter is coming back next year.

Why? Next year the new 4* quarterback probably will start. Isn't that a good thing? Also why give away future play calling when there isn't really any worthy players to make the plays that is only suitable for 4* and some really good 3* players. Also the overall team isn't set to run the plays due to lack of talents. That is why He is running the plays he is doing now. Next year should be a lot better. He is still learning but wanted to save any new plays for next year with 4* and some good 3 * players along with few 5* players. No way Drinkwitz is going to want to run another set of bad plays next year just to show this is my offense plays and I am going to continue to use them. I can see Fisher been struggling to get Texas A&M rolling on offense in some games. He has been a HC for a long time and that isn't good for Texas A&M plus he has those 4* and 5* players and that is no excuses for him not to get the offense going regularly.
Let give Drinkwitz a chance to build it his way with the players he is recruiting to make it work. Some of the players are not getting it done due to lack of talent. Sterk gave Odom 4 years and thought it was turning around but the 5th year it got worst. That is why give drink the time he needs to buld it the right way. Next year should be a lot better with the DC getting a full off season. Have faith he will make a statement next year. Just not needed to try that this year with half of the players not fit the system due to lack of talent.
