Gates quote from tonight sounds like what managers put in the comments box on a corrective action plan.

“We’re confident that he will be a strong contributor to this team!”

Damn shame. Why do hyped players never work out for Mizzou?

A lot of boosters gonna be pissed if he doesn’t. His NIL is $73,000.

Kobe Brown’s NIL is $22,000 and Aidan Shaw’s is $17,000.

They are paying a lot of money to watch him sit the bench.

They’re paying a lot of money for him to not show up to team meetings.

Going to team meetings might help the "transition he's going through."

My wife has been the advisor for several athletes that come in her office depressed, crying, and ready to quit school. It has been for different reasons that have nothing to with sports. She’ll talk with them and most of the time walks them over to student/health center to a counselor. Almost all of the kids end up not quitting they just needed to talk with someone and sometimes a doctor prescribes them antidepressants or anxiety medication.

I’m not a doctor, but it sounds like he has a depression or anxiety disorder. I think he hasn’t been kicked off the team for this reason.

Sometimes depression and anxiety can be worse than a physical injury, because you can’t wrap it up and fix it.

Michael Phelps, Kevin Love, Ricky Williams, and Serana Williams all are outspoken about their struggles with depression. Phelps was suicidal for a few years during his prime.

Approximately 30% of women and 25% of men who are student-athletes report having anxiety, and only 10% of all college athletes with known mental health conditions seek care from a mental health professional.

Recognizing a mental illness, such as depression is of utmost importance. Educating athletes and coaches about its effects is vital

Athletes with depression become less interested in training. They may turn up late or leave as soon as possible afterwards.
