If he was recruiting in even the top half of the SEC, he could cover up his pretty brutal coaching abilities. He’s not. WYSIWYG.

I don’t get how Watson plays like he did against Arkansas and then Pickett gets 21 minutes and Watson gets 5. Mind blowing. Pickett is worthless.

I made the mistake of looking up his buyout details...I wish I hadn’t.
Can’t be fired until May 1, 2020
$6MM buyout from May 2020 - April 2021
$3MM buyout from May 2021 - April 2022
$1MM buyout from May 2022 - April 2023
Think that’s bad? It’s worse. Each 20 win season or NCAA tournament appearance sets that schedule back one year. Cuonzo made the tournament (and won 20 games) in 2017. So currently it’s:
Can’t be fired until May 1, 2021
$6MM buyout from May 2021 - April 2022
$3MM buyout from May 2022 - April 2023
$1MM buyout from May 2023 - April 2024
Assuming we make the tournament this year, which is still *almost* a lock amazingly, the schedule will push back again. So after this season, we’re looking at:
Can’t be fired until May 1, 2022
$6MM buyout from May 2022 - April 2023
$3MM buyout from May 2023 - April 2024
Contract expires May 1, 2024
In a nutshell, there’s basically no scenario Cuonzo isn’t coaching Mizzou for at least 2 more seasons after this one, and more than likely will coach a 3rd season after this to finish out the term of this contract. They’ll likely sign him to an “extension” between now and then for recruiting optics but I imagine it would be easily escapable compared to this one.

CM throws the players under the bus too:
OK...but wait for it
OK....I know it's coming CM just say it's someone else's fault
And there it is
If you want to go to the link here it is

quote:
“You put yourself in a position to win on the road you got to find a way to win,” Tigers coach Cuonzo Martin said.
OK...but wait for it

“You’ve got to stay strong,” he said. “You’ve got to finish the game and stay strong
OK....I know it's coming CM just say it's someone else's fault
quote:
I thought we had a great game plan and had great energy. We just couldn’t maintain for some reason and couldn’t execute what we tried to do offensively.”

We all, deep down inside, knew the collapse was coming.
Shame.
Shame.

Other than the Tennessee game on the road, I haven’t seen a good game plan from him.
His game plan strongly contributed to our loss at Auburn (if not being the main cause). The game plan against Tenner at home was a joke.
