Was messing around PM sight and started reading some twitter chatter about Corbin. Some feed was that Corbin suggested moving Marvin Zanders to the #3 QB. It said nothing could be confirmed on that but it's what sources were saying.

Then it get's more interesting. One feed said that Corbin had been reaching out to former Mizzou QB Jimmy Costello (now an Army Ranger) for advice about transitioning to Special Forces. The feed beforehand was quoting Corbin's mother commenting that Corbin has been doing FB workouts everyday and then doing Navy SEAL training for 2 to 3 hours a day also.

It appears Corbin is getting himself ready for life after CFB. If he does take the route it seems to be he's taking, I wish him all the best.

I have seen the same stuff on twitter. Apparently hes made no secret about wanting to go in to the special forces after his time at Mizzou.

The way Berkstresser was written off is kind of a shame.

Probably a much better leader than Mauk.

He had zero offensive line. Started against some really good teams, including Bama.

Cannon of an arm.

Company man.

Wish they would have used him in some way, like OU was using that big guy on short yardage.

Did Sealfit for 2 years after I was done playing.

It's 2 workouts a day. 2-3 hour commitment.

Incredible shape. Mind and body. Any task was easy. Work was nothing.

Threw crap load of balls into the ground and under thrown balls down field. Yes the O-Line was horrible and he sounds like a hell of a guy. But he did not get screwed by the coaches he was just not that good.

Ive said for awhile I wish they would use him in short yard situations/goal line. We have never really had a power back and I think we could benefit from Berk doing that. And then hes not just a used roster space. He is contributing.

Mansbro was actually really good in short yardage as last year.

Hunt would be the one to use if Mizzou didn't already have a back that done really well in those situations.

The only thing I enjoyed about Berkstresser playing was listening to the announcers frick his name up every week.

Wish him the best. That is a very honorable and noble line of work.

I wish him luck as a SEAL, his hardest obstacle will be whether his surgically repaired knee holds up. The most common injury in BUDS are knee injuries. I've served with 3 or 4 guys who got medically cut because of ACL/MCL injuries.

Wish him the best

You just do not get to enlist as a "SEAL" straight from the street.

He will have to find his way there in one of the branches. Wish him luck but thats a tough road to walk.

Great Tiger. Hell of a guy, and will probably be very successful in whatever he does after football.

He wasn't written off though. He got his chance and didn't do anything with it.

Better leader than Mauk? Lol, based on fricking what?

Sure you do, there's a good amount of money involved in it to. The only branch you join the SEALs in is the Navy.

Here's the process. You sign/enlist as a SEAL Candidate. You will be sent to bootcamp and placed in a special division, which is more intense and involves a lot more physical conditioning.

After 8 weeks of bootcamp you are sent to a newer thing called Pre-BUDS. The Navy found this has drastically increased the percentage of people who make it through BUDS. I believe this program is about 13 weeks long. If you make it through the Pre-BUDS training you are sent to BUDS.

Class act, he's a great person making sacrifices for the team. He's an excellent role model for the younger guys too. Thanks for your service Corbin, now and in the future.

This got me curious. I know things are probably much different now than when I was interested in some type of special warfare unit coming out of HS. When I graduated, SEALS was mostly an unknown to most civilians. It was one of those units that was not highly advertised. I did some research, and decided at that particular time it was what I was interested in doing if I went into the military. I took my practice ASVAB I believe it was and talked to a recruiter about what I was planning. Then I didn't pull the trigger. Something I do still regret to this day. But back then, you enlisted in the Navy first, then made it through boot camp, picked a job and then requested a transfer or volunteered for SEALS. At least that is how I understood the process then.

Now after a short read, they have mentors, you can get to SEALS through other branches of the service, but I'm sure there are qualifying factors to this. They have separate "contracts" for SEALS training as well as a multitude of different tests you have to pass. A physical, a PT test twice, a mental stability test (basically) and the current ASVAB. They also give you a mentor to help you through PT even before you go to boot camp. It seems much different now than it was then as it probably should be. Then, we had only yourself to rely on for PT training. You just hope you got it right.

Either way, I hope Corbin makes it in what ever he goes for. He seems to be a great kid.

I think the coaches will try to give him chances to get some td's this season. He might be good in the red zone with his size and strength.

Outside of the redzone I think a formation with mauk in shotgun with berkstresser and zanders on either side of mauk would have some potential.

2012 was a nightmare for the O-line. I'm actually surprised that we beat Arizona state and Tennessee that year.

Anyone with eyeballs could see that Berk had no time to make any decisions and had to throw the ball anywhere just to not get sacked.

To judge Berk by the 2012 season would be like judging maty on just the Georgia game.
