I think everyone is just frustrated with how this past season went (understandably so), combined with the fact that we are losing our best and most proven player, has lead to pointing fingers.
Frustrated with the current state of the program as a whole. Last season doesn't bother me so much any more. It's over. All it does is provide context for what else is going on. Defections. What appears to be recruiting that is struggling. Lack of direction. Are we changing a culture or not?

Meh. I don't see any hate. Criticism sure. But even KA said in his press conference that it is justified (and I give him kudos for owning it like that btw), but if someone else says it now, it is hate. Mmmmmkay.

When that something stupid is being an a-hole to coaches/team mates and was bad enough to warrant a multiple game suspension, then yeah, I'd call that being douchy.
Getting drunk and/or missing curfew on a game night...yeah, I'd call that douchy and complete disrespect for the coaches and team.
Flat out just skipping practices...yeah, I'd call that douchy too.
Apparently KA agrees with me as well. He did suspend them all. If you don't like douchy, subtitute whatever word fits better. Irresponsible. Immature. Disrespectful. Whatever. And yeah, lots of 19 year olds do stupid things. I'd suggest there is something extra that comes with being given the opportunity to play at the next level and have all the perks of being a college athlete.
Are these things confirmed about skipping practices or just assumptions? I'm in agreement that the culture or whatever hasn't changed, but I don't want a rush to judgement on the suspensions.

You don't have a damn clue what criticism is. And no, criticism is not hating.

Go fill your prescriptions.

Damn I've missed your contributions. Let me try to get this right then.
Improvement during the year? Doesn't matter, it's KA. Only haters expected improvement during the year.
Lost your top scorer and rebounder? Doesn't matter, it's KA. We never really wanted J3 here anyways. He was the cancer in the locker room that prevented the team chemistry.
Record setting futility? Doesn't matter, we have KA. It was Haith's fault, not KA's. Not even Wooden or Coach K could have won 10 games this last year.
Subpar recruiting? BS. Puryear and VanLeer are heads and shoulders above the likes of Bryant/Blakeney/Briscoe/Whitt/Morgan/Kapita/Lyle/Swanigan/Zimmerman/Bacon/Shamet/Milton. Those that disagree are just haters.
Publicly chastising kids about posture/pronunciation? Well, they did have crappy posture/pronunciation. KA absolutely should blast them to the media for it. To suggest it was a poor move to do so isn't criticism, it's hate.

Not directed at just you.
People are falling over truisms on this topic.
It's like looking only at saber metrics without the real thing.
Nothing metaphysical is being taken into consideration on KA at all.
Everything is being looked at through a very negatively biased lens.
*It's not that criticism or concerns aren't warranted.

There have been good things about KA as well. My responses come when someone wants to try to push the mantra that KA did a good job in his 12 months at Mizzou. Far from it. He admits it. Not sure why others can't. He holds blame for the current mess just like everyone else does: administration, players, fans, Haith, Quinn, you name it.
Bottom line is just because others hold some responsibility and just because there is good to talk about in relation to KA, it doesn't equate to saying KA isn't also partially responsible for the current state of affairs.

J3's dad also said he wasn't happy about how he was having to play the position. He knew it wasn't going to change because they needed him to play the position where they had him. He also said the same thing about Haith. I just don't think he was happy about the whole thing so he decided to move on.

quote:This is my impression. J3 is not leaving because of KA, he stayed an extra year to try it out after the coaching change. He thought about transferring prior to the new coach and freshmen. When I see people closer to the situation than me, like former players, tweeting all year with most of the new guys but not with J3, I just think he didn't like being here from the start. J3 seems like a good kid and wish him the best where ever he ends up. A year off will help him tremendously. Let his knees heal up and hit the weights.
He also said the same thing about Haith. I just don't think he was happy about the whole thing so he decided to move on.

I haven't been reading all the comments on this board, do people say he's been doing a good job?

Some are just very resistant to admitting there were some downsides to the last 12 months. No worries. Really was just a general observation, not really directly directed at anyone.
