This is a great breakdown of Mizzou football.

Mizzou shocks Bama. Lock, Hall and Albert O are too much for their secondary. And just when they think they have made their adjustments Crockett and Rountree slam the door.

I'm optimistic about this season. I think we have a shot at the east.

I agree with the win probability other than florida. Believe that should be 50-55%, any maybe a little lower with usc.

I won't get too optimistic about this team until I see the results of week 3.

That's in the title of the article. Their words and not mine.

This is a major difference between Mizzou fans and other SEC fans.
Mizzou fans generally wait for the team to show its legit before fully supporting the team.
Fans of other SEC teams fully support their teams until the team/coach shows that they can’t get the job done.

That is the truth. When I lived in SC they were going through an awful stretch and still packed the stadium.

I mean there's not a pro team of any kind in SC either.

Mizzou was largely irrelevant for a long time. When I was at Mizzou In 05-09 it was packed consistently.

I dont think Mizzou will ever get that kind of fan base because football isn't king in Missouri, baseball rules the roost.

That is a weak excuse. If you want an elite program you have to support it.

Reality isn't really an excuse. The Cardinals will always be the draw in St. Louis in September and October. Unless this team is undefeated and nationally ranked there won't be huge crowds in Columbia.

I'd be shocked if we can sell out the Georgia game.

Sure it's an excuse and a garbage one at that. You guys want Odom to win and recruit at a top 25 level with top 70 fan support.

I expect Mizzou not to play a nail biter against MoSt in the first game of the season and then get embarrassed by Purdue. Tell me how that encouraged people to go to games last year?

You go because they are your team. You go because they could turn things around, win out and make a bowl game.

You can come up with any excuse you want not to go and I don't really give a shite. The point is that supporting the program on multiple levels is the only way it takes the steps you want it to.

It’s not just game day support that Mizzou is lagging on. Matter has reported that Mizzou has around 8k doners, the average for the rest of the SEC is a little over 12k.

Until there is better fan support Mizzou will continue to recruit in the 30’s and 40’s nationally and win 7-8 games a year.

The argument isn't about one a-hole from out-of-state showing up for one game. It's about the 6 million potential fans in the state that aren't doing what other SEC fanbases do, which is show up and donate consistently.
