I have no proof, but here is a theory.
Philadelphia is a solid sports media city. Every outlet and forum had Rhodes ready to sign Rhule to Mizzou. Then everything went cold. Rhodes we find out has interviewed and accepted the Baylor AD position. Magically he gets Rhule to follow him to Baylor.
I believe Rhodes sandbagged us on Rhule as soon as he knew he was in good position for the Baylor job. He needed an up and coming coach because Baylor was a toxic mess with their scandal. Can't really blame him, he knew he was leaving, why give us his preferred coach.

Yes we do. He said it not too long ago during a half time interview.
