I just don't see Knox coming to Mizzou. I hope I'm wrong.
I understand the doubts. It looked like the visit went as well as it could have this weekend but it's still a long shot to beat out dook and UNC

I think it's more likely that he ends up in the ACC, but there's nothing he'd miss out on by being at Mizzou.
I think we can be a tournament team with all the talent coming in. We'll play and compete in a power conference, be all over TV and Cuonzo has put plenty of players in the league.

See that's what I was worried about. I knew there was no way we would have enough room to bring in 6 guys(MPJ,Harris,Roberts,Knox,Timon,Smith)
We're not going to get them all but we'd make room if needed. I just wasn't sure if I was missing any current scholarships. i.e. did any of the walk ons get a schollie that we have to take away?

Wait!!!!!
In one year?!?!?!?!
But we were told with the last coaching change that he needed 3-5 years???? You telling me that long may not be necessary after all?

This is elite level recruiting. No non blue blood will have a better class.

3-5 years are football numbers. Basketball is 1-3 years max. The fact KA had his worst record in year 3 should tell everyone all they needed to know.

The elusive triple post! Bravo!
Knox isn't a long shot. We've got as good a chance as any to sign him.
We could take 6 guys and only have to process one more. Nikko, Geist or Kemp
If we kept Geist it would even Out the classes a bit more and give us at least 2, possibly 3 spots next year. I'd let Kemp or Nikko go if it came down to it.

Letting Kemp go would probably be the least disruptive. He could go JUCO (though that might not be ideal APR-wise) and still have 4 to play 4.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic. That's all we heard after a shitty year 1 and shitty year 2.

Living in dream land, we don't have to process anyone if say Knox and Tilmon both commit. From there, I'd say if you land anyone else I'd like to see someone from that position go.
i.e. If you land Mark Smith or that Duval kid (yeah, I'd say a -25% chance), Geist has to go because you have similar guys in Phillips, Harris and Roberts already. All a little different but all can basically play the 1 or the 2.
If Jontay were to reclassify (I doubt it at this point) then I'd just as soon see Smith or Nikko or maybe Kemp go. Otherwise, you would have Tilmon, Jontay, Nikko and Smith all with limited range and mainly paint players. The reality is that if you bring those guys all in, whichever stays of Nikko, Smith and Kemp aren't going to see the floor much anyways.

It shouldn't be a priority to go after Smith now that we have Harris. I'm pretty sure Tilmon is a lock. We should focus all our attention on getting Knox here. Smith will probably end up at Sparty anyway. Those two sports should be reserved for Knox and Tilmon

it's nice after a long cold lonely winter of our discontent.
but don't get cocky

Yeah, all this could have been so much different if Washington doesn't fire Romar. We should send them a gift basket.

Why? Mark Smith is VERY GOOD. If we can get him we 100% take him.
Anyway, Smith and Roberts can both play the off guard just as easily as the point.

My opinion is that Smith is/should be our #1 option at PG. He is a superior distributor of the rock/playmaker. Roberts is more of a shooter. If fortunate enough to land Smith they should battle for the starting shooting guard slot.
I personally think Smith has greater potential and offers a bit more. That would leave Phillips backing up at point and Roberts at SG and if needed at point

There's a lot of rumors on twitter that Smith will announce his commitment to MSU next Wednesday. He just finished an official visit this weekend with MSU. He gone.

You just get the best guys you can and let PT sort itself out in practice.
If our guard rotation is Phillips, Roberts, Harris and Smith we are inifinitely better than we have been.
Then you have a possible front court of Tilmon, Porter, Knox Barnett and Puryear.
I mean, wow. That's easily one of the top rosters talent wise in college hoops.
