Yeah, we all saw this coming. Hope he finds a landing spot.

Drink did a disservice to him playing him while he was injured.

The correct play was to say he'll resume starting once healthy - and if someone usurps him ala Kurt Warner with Trent Green - so be it. But to keep playing him while clearly compromised (when he had alternatives) was a disservice to Connor and the program.

Hopefully Eli does some self-evaluation on how he handled this and makes adjustments.

I wonder if Drinkwitz told him after the game that there wouldn't be playing time for him next year. I saw enough from Cook to know that with a little experience and practicing first team, he'll give us what Bazelak did or more.

I wish him well.

He was recruited by Barry Odom who didn't know **** about offense.

The future is bright if Drink grows in his play calling or gets an OC with Cook and Horn available.

And was also recruited by Drink when he was at NC State, but to be fair, Drinkwitz really doesn't know much better about offense.

This must be true because looking at average yard per completion says Cook, at least in the Army game, wasn't an improvement from a healthy Bazelak. It was definitely a downgrade in yards per completion from Bazelak's good games. But maybe Cook does bring something with his running that Bazelak didn't. Imo Bazelak is getting too much heat for his comparative performance and should be on Eli for keeping him in longer. But maybe Army is a better defense than I'm giving them credit for and Cook also didn't have Badie (the running backs he did have were +5 yards per carry though) either which should be taken into consideration.

This is only looking at stats, but I imagine a healthy Bazelak is the best QB on the team from just a passing perspective and is why Eli kept him in.

Best of luck to him.

We have what looks to be a talented QB room, someone was bound to leave.

Weird, according to what I just read he considered transferring for the past "several weeks." So the starter was considering leaving? So did Drink stay with him to placate him?

He probably knew he was done here after the Arkansas game

This isn't bad for Bazelak because other schools will take him for what he has done so far. other might want him because he has played enough games and some against top teams and that shall only help him if he go to a school that plays at a lesser conference. Not a bad thing for him and Mizzou will have a roster spot open. He wasn't the answer for Mizzou and for Drinkwitz offense with the long ball being gone all season long!

Cook won’t go, he wasn’t a big recruit and loves mizzou.

Macon I bet believes he can start, which he still may, so I don’t think he goes either.

I tend to think cook and CB are tied from a throwing perspective. Cook better at 15+ throws, CB better at short throws. But cooks feet help the offense

Best of luck to Conner; great kid and teammate. He was one of the first ones to greet Cook after he scored a TD.
