In have no hate for the man. I think he's a good coach, and a good person. I'm just not convinced he's a home run hire; more of a safe, uninspiring one. No bad, just not exciting.

Will they be McDonald All Americans? Will Jayson Tatum or Jimmy Whitt come play for Kim Anderson?

Why wouldn't they? What makes good players decide to play for Haith who hasn't accomplished much of anything significant?

I'd argue that Anderson's Div II national championship is FAR more impressive than Haith's Big 12 Tournament Championship which happened as a result of a down Big 12.

Come on, people...that is actually a hell of a selling point. "I coached a team to a Div II national championship. Come play for me at Mizzou and help us win our first Div I national championship."

I don't hate Anderson. But I don't get the love for him. Serious question, how many D2 coaches have successfully transitioned to D1?

He will say Wisconsin. So have him give another 2 or 3 examples.

Personality, charisma, contacts to get in the door, the willingness to lie to their faces more than likely.

I don't hate Anderson either, as I mentioned he may be the best X's and O's guy currently on our list. Their are huge recruiting boundaries though and you're being naïve if you do not accept that.

Well Marshall began as an assistant in Div III so he's out.

Why the need to douche it up like that?

As far as needing high profile recruits, I would imagine the only team to make the national championship game in recent memory without them is Butler.

UConn: Napier(4*), Daniels(4*), Boathright(4*)
UK: Do I really have to list them?

'Ville: Siva, Behanan, Balckshear, Price, Ware, Harrell(All 4*'s)
Michigan: Robinson(5*), Hardaway, Burke, Stauskas, McGary(4*)

UK: Again, no need to list them.
kU: Robinson(5*), Johnson, Withey, Releford(All 4*'s)

UConn: Walker, Lamb, Oriakhi, Napier, Smith(All 4*'s)
Butler: Exception to the rule.

Other teams playing for national championship in the last 10 years, and I'm sure they had their fill of 4 and 5*'s:

Duke, UNC, MSU, Memphis, tOSU, Florida, UCLA, Illinois.

Can a national championship be won or the game made with less than what I call high profile recruits? Theoretically. Realistically, the odds are completely stacked against you.

Now if your definition of success is simply winning 20+ games, an occasional SEC title every decade, and making the tourney and winning maybe a game, then yes, you can probably get by without high profile recruits.

I'm also not saying your team has to be nothing but. You can fill in around those recruits with others and my guess is when surrounded by that kind of talent, the other recruits will become better as well. But without some base of high profile recruits, I wouldn't anticipate many Final Fours or National Championship runs.

How can we assume Anderson can't recruit. He was a Mizzou assistant during some very good years.

Wherein Rich Daly got all the good recruits. Besides the transfers.

I don't understand the hate for KA. Our "homerun hire" will not be nearly as good as KA...guaranteed

Because he has never recruited a high profile recruit during today's age of Twitter and Rivals. It's just not the same anymore.

Can anyone name me a player he recruited to Mizzou in those days that would wow me?

I totally agree with MIZ_COU... Everyone keeps saying Anderson can't recruit at this level. Well how the hell do we know? If we hired the LA Tech coach do we know he can recruit at this level? I think if we could keep Fuller on staff I'm warming up to the idea of KA. Although I would obviously rather have Marshall if given the choice. I think Tim Miles would be a great hire, but nobody seems to be giving that any legs.
