I'd also love to see one game of:

LT: Cuellar
LG: McNulty/Chappell
C: Boehm
RG: McGovern
RT: Crawford/Rhodes

Just give me one game to see if it isn't better. I saw Abeln getting his arse handed to him regularly. I don't think McGovern was made to be a tackle, but is solid inside. Haven't really paid attention to Crawford.

Maybe. But won't know if we don't try. What we do know is:

Brown can't catch.
Moore can't catch.
Culkin can't catch.
Richard can't catch.

And so on.

My point was he was making his assumption on inaccurate information. You are right though, who knows. With the way the staff has bumbled everything regarding the RBs nothing would surprise me. It's really inexcusable to be in this position.

I'm really starting to get concerned about how they've handled RH as well. He should have never came back in against SEMO or played against Ark St. He should have been in a boot and resting the ankle. No practice either. They've obviously prolonged the recovery time just so they could get 5-6 carries of him at 50% against inferior competition.

Our RB position is just a complete clusterfrick from every imaginable angle.

I hear ya. And I wouldn't be surprised. My only point is that despite the accurate information of Doherty having been better, maybe someone connected to the team told him it would be Williams. Was just saying that wouldn't surprise me given their history.

Was looking for some other stuff and ran into the scrimmage stuff from last year. Witter did come on at the end though Walters started stronger.

I actually think McGovern has played pretty well at tackle. He got beat on a speed rush last week but that's the only time I can recall him getting beat. Haven't really noticed Crawford and that's usually a good thing.

Our OL issues are on the inside. A elm will probably be good for us, but he doesn't appear to be physically ready at this point. Boehm is probably still slowed by the ankle and Hall just doesn't appear to be any good.

So yeah, I agree with you on moving McGovern back inside. Not because he's been bad at tackle but because hes a very good guard and we are getting our asses kicked there.

Yeah, I didn't mean to say he's bad at tackle. He's just made to play guard. He's just best there. Move him back there. Cuellar is a tackle. Played/trained there. Play him there. Get Hall and Abeln the heck outta there.

Yeah, it's sad when you flip on any game and wish our back-up RBs ran like that - including our opposition.

I was thinking about Marvin after all the injuries last week. If Chase Abbington isn't the answer it might make sense to ask Zanders if he would be interested in taking snaps in the backfield this week while not vacating his QB position. After all, he has been with the team for a while and has to know the playbook better than the true freshman, so it would open up more of the playbook.

Agree Reedus.....the only time I've seen Ish "hit" a hole is when the hole is big enough for me to run through.

I agree. If Cuellar can play at LT any better than the current RG/LG spots...move McGovern back. Keep a similar level of performance at LT while making at least 1 guard spot lightyears better.

Surely they have to be looking at that as a possibility right?

Crazy we haven't seen it yet. LG is a clusterfrick right now though.

At least Abeln is out. For now. We'll see. I still think Ricker thinks he's smarter than the game by moving McGovern to LT. Reminds me of LaRussa hitting the pitcher 8th.

funny, that's exactly who Pinkel reminds me of, doing things like playing his walk on RB to try and prove he's smarter than he looks. Because it's not a fluke that his walk on was wide open and managed to limp to the endzone just barely before being tracked down, sure Gary that WASN'T a fluke.

Sort of like him trotting Mauk out there even though "all or nothing Matty" is nothing like a "Pinkel player", it must burn him to realize his starter is the antitheisis of his "play it safe" game plan.

I think Ricker is just trying to mix and match his "parts" and play who he thinks is the best player as his boss prescribes. Abelyn may practice better than he plays, it happens, it's sort of like knowing when you have a H Josey buried in the depth chart, it may not be obvious but knowing it is the job you get paid extremely well to do.

that's why we're moving him to RB, we need more receivers..
