There is a thread on their site asking if Odom will be available as their DC next year. They can have him only if they take the rest of the defensive staff too.

You think that Coach Kul is laughing down there in Miami?

I think he enjoys Odom's ineptitude, but I think he feels bad for his DL kids.

His defensive front is the primary reason Miami is 13th in the ACC in rushing defense so far in conference play.. He doesn't have time to laugh as he didn't inherit a unit devoid of talent.

Definition of irony...Kul is teaching an attacking scheme for the front 4. What scheme did Miami use the previous 3 years you ask? Read and React. A scheme 1 DL described as a "bumass" scheme.

They went to a simpler scheme and still can't stop anyone. It doesn't sound like the scheme was the "bumass" constituent in the product.

I get that the current scheme isn't popular. It isn't easy to deploy. It places more responsibility on the players and it doesn't fill up a stat sheet for the defensive linemen. That doesn't mean that it won't get them to the NFL. If college stats were what personnel depts weighed most of their decisions on, the wouldn't waste money on the combine and going to pro days.

They irony that when his front is faced with a group of guys that aren't waist benders, they get throttled and run over?

That's not accurate

They've given up the second fewest rushing TDs, they are also giving up 3.42 yards per carry (8th in their league, not 13th)

They also, unsurprisingly, lead the ACC in TFL and 5th in sacks (3 behind 1st)

They are 4th in their league in defensive YPP

Do I need to contrast that with our stats?

The style of play works. It's not inferior. It worked here and it's working there.

I have no idea why Odom would dislike Kul. He should be thanking him profusely, because had he been allowed to install this "bumass" scheme last year there is zero chance he's now the head coach.

You didn't say conference play until you edited your original post.

No matter though, they are still better than 13 in YPC and what I said still stands.

You mean when I edited it at 11:21 PM, almost 3 hours before you made your post?

Nice try to cover your lack of comprehension.

Yes, along with the other things I mentioned. Of course, you want to cherry pick to try and prove whatever point you are making.

Facts are, they've been pretty good on defense. Just like we were before we went away from what we do. Now we are arse.

Spin it however you like.

Miami is 11th in total defense during conference play and they are 1-4 in ACC play.

ACC YDS per game Conference play

Spin that.

*Edit* This Miami team is composed of 5 classes and the lowest rated class was the 2015 class ranked 26th with 7 4* rated players.

No need to spin anything. Yards per game is a shitty stat.

YPP is a much better indicator of how good a defense is. They are 4th in the ACC.
