Andrew Baggett should be benched, Give a scholarship to the honorary kicker

Last night Andrew Baggett missed an what amounted to a field goal from the 6 yard line, missed an extra point in the game before that, and was 3rd team ALL-SEC in preseason and has shite the bed. The honorary kicker from last night kicked a 30 yd field goal down main street, it appears there is more talent in the stands than on the field, perhaps we could find some people to tackle on defense too cause it was a shite show. The offense preformed really well when they were on the field, but when kickers miss extra points, it will cost us games in conference play. Arkansas St's kicker was 4/4 on field goals and made a 44yd hell even they have a kicker.

I wouldn't kick another FG all year. That unreliable. He does great on kickoffs. He can keep doing that, but seriously, get someone from the women's soccer team to come out. And I'm not fricking kidding. Or am I?

You'd be a kicker. Not a linebacker. Go kick a few to get your leg in shape and get your arse out there.

It's high time Pinkel starts offering kickers scholarships.

I never had a very strong leg but I am very accurate with my kicks. We'd need to keep Baggett for kickoffs and long range tries unless you want to see every kick off caught at the 10 yard line

You need to start watching the holds instead of the kicks. When Baggett gets good holds, he is about an 80% kicker.
Right now, we have a DB doing holds. Yes, a position that is known for their hands, is holding kicks. I'm not sure why it isn't the backup QB (like daniel) or a WR (like Moe or Saunders), but it is a DB. Baggett has been kicking the laces most of the time this year until the 2nd half of ASU.
Last year it was the same. Bad snaps early in the year were brutal on him.
As for your missed PAT claim, Baggett hasn't missed a PAT since Murray State.
Also, starting in game #4 last season, Baggett was an 85% FG kicker. That isn't bad at all and is actually pretty good. He did kick a game winning FG last year. The kid will be fine.

Whatever the problem it needs fixing. 50% with a missed PAT already doesn't instill confidence. He's even worse from under 40 yards at 40%. Whether it's the snapper, the holder or the kicker, something in the kicking game has to change.

this is why i hate mizzou fans in general. lets just bitch to bitch and damn trying to analyze things. mizzou fans aren't happy unless they are complaining.
I wish there was a way to ignore posters on this site.

This I agree with.
I think there's plenty of positive things to talk about as well. But this thread was about the kicking game. If there's an area I feel needs improvement, I'm going to say as much. If you want to put your head in the sand and ignore it, so be it. I don't think a team improves, though, by only pumping themselves full of sunshine and ignoring areas of concern. And so you know, I tried to pull up video of Baggett's kicks and couldn't find anything so it's hard for me to say it's the snap, the holder or the kicker. The only thing I could find was some site analyzing guys for the draft that discussed Baggett's misses and said that the snap and the holds were all good on his misses. I didn't mention it or link it because I was giving you the benefit of the doubt that you knew what you were talking about. But according to at least one site, you don't.
If you want sunshine, before anything I'd mention health. We've been able to stay healthy relatively speaking, which should be huge going into conference play. The offensive line is doing a solid job so far. Might have happened, but I don't recall a single bad snap. In fact, I don't remember the last bad snap. More sunshine is the running game. We might not end up with a running back in the top 10 in the SEC, as far as statistics go, but as a team, we're among the conference leaders. Love the way Henson has re-sculpted the running game. Wide receivers are as deep as I ever remember. Even when we had the likes of Maclin, Rucker, Coffman, Alexander and others, I don't know if we had the depth we have right now. We can go 8 deep and find guys that can truly contribute catching the ball. Baggett's kick offs have been great. Hardly any opportunities for a return. Enough sunshine pumping for me lest someone think I only bitch just to bitch.
