Last night's win over #20 Wichita State keeps the momentum heading into the weekend series in Baton Rouge.
LaPlant had another solid outing and WSU had to use 6 pitchers to get through the game.

While Wichita State hasn't been what they once were, that was still an extremely strong win for a mid week game.
Can't wait to see what this weekend brings. Great test right out of the gates.
Misner and Sharp continue to rake.

Hopefully it's just the ole Mizzou fan in me waiting for the other shoe to drop, but Sikemma hasn't pitched in nearly 2 weeks. He hurt?

Wichita St is down from their historic highs, but they do have two hitters that expected to top 1-2 round draft picks.
Their coach is a much better assistant than head coach though.
I hope Sikkema isn't hurt. He would definitely throw against LSU this weekend. We've been facing every lefty teams have.
We match up better with Montes De Oca than we do with Plassmeyer.
I want to see Hess match up with Misner. If Hess' fastball looks like it did last Friday, Misner will hit one to the football stadium. I'm hoping he comes out a little sharper than that. Hawaii had 3 homeruns going into the game and hit 3 off Hess.
ETA: We beat South Alabama tonight. Alma Mater of one David Freese. South Alabama plays their home games at Eddie Stankey field also. So a couple Cardinals connections.

I haven't read or heard anything about an injury. I think Beiser is keeping some dry powder for the conference schedule. As a tFr, he had 299 pitches in 20 innings before conference play started. He wasn't as sharp the last month of the season.

Good series this weekend. I told yall that we wouldn't match up well with Plassmeyer.
Montes De Oca looked good after he settled in. In that regard he reminds me of Alex Lange last year and Lance Lynn, where they should probably do a bit of running before the game to tire themselves out so they aren't over-amped in the first inning.
I just can't get over how high I think Misner's ceiling is. He crushed that ball yesterday. But being 6'4" 220 and playing CF is going to open a lot of scouts eyes. I wonder if after his performance this weekend Mainieri has him tryout for Team USA this summer.

For those that don't follow closely, LSU won the series 2-1. That is Mizzou's first win...ever...against LSU. Friday night was competitive. Sunday, you guys pretty much owned us.
In good news for us, Sikemma threw in 2 of the games. Not so sharp in the Sunday game.
Misner is a stud but I'm really happy for Trey Harris. Was a little surprised he didn't go in the draft. His bad luck has been good news for Mizzou. He's been raking as well his senior year.

When do we give LaPlante run in the Sunday slot? If at all?

I wouldn't mind seeing it at some point. Toelken's last 3 starts have been pretty solid though after 2 shaky starts. So probably no rush.
