If we'd have to make room for Robinson I don't think we'd be taking a recruit like Glass IMO. He could be a hidden gem, but he's a guy you take to finish out your class, not to have to move other guys around.

Ok so we can take 25 HS players, and 7 transfers if we lost 7. So Glass and Robinson aren't competing for the same scholarship spot. Anyone know where we sit on the 7 transfer limit?

What’s this about Robinson being in the student directory

None of that really matters at the moment. We are over the 85 total limit…so someone has to go

But are we over the transfer limit or the HS scholarship limit. That dictates who has to go. For example if we are at 86 but also at 8 transfers then I'm assuming the lb from Wyoming gets the boot. Since they took Glass, I'm guessing that has to be where the cut is coming from. Especially since the rumor is that Robinson is already enrolled.

You can take more than 7 transfers.

That limit is only applicable if you’ve already signed 25 traditional recruits.

You could technically take 25 transfers in a cycle if you wanted to

"The waiver will allow teams to sign 25 players, plus as many as seven transfers — not high school players — to replace those who transfer out in the first term. Football players still cannot transfer during the season and become eligible to compete at their new schools.Oct 5, 2021"

This seems to imply the limit is 7. Plus 25 regular HS recruits. No matter how many we lose, you can only restock 7. Tennessee will actually play this year below the 85 limit because they lost so many transfers.

We’ve got 10 transfer commits right now. Several teams have 10 or more.

It’s 7 ABOVE the 25 man limit.

We would still have room in the yearly limit for 5 more transfers if we wanted to.

A team is allowed 25 1st counters or HS recruits. A team can replace up to 7 players from the portal to make up from departures after the end of the Fall term or December 15th, whichever is earlier. These new rules took effect starting October 2021. Transfers before this new rule don't count toward the 7 max.

Also looks like a team can replenish graduate transfers from the portal and they DON'T count toward the 7 limit. I think we lost 3 grad transfers, Robinson, Parker and a RB.

So, the AD needs to fire someone for not knowing the rules? Maybe you do not know the rules as that could be bent to make it work. Let wait and see how all this comes down after signing day.

That’s not how it’s being put into practice. Look at how many teams have 12 transfers already

They could have had a bunch before 10/26. That's when the NCAA changed the rules. They didn't count transfers before 10/26. So in theory, from here on out, every school should only have 7 plus replacing grad transfers. So the question is, since 10/26, have we used our allotment of 7 and did Parker, Robinson and Bakare enter the portal before 12/15? If they did, have we used their allotment too.

I would think Drinkwitz would know about that before pulling the trigger.
