Some Mizzou fan account on Twitter is reporting that Nathaniel Peat is transferring to Mizzou. Would be a mice addition to the backfield

Bad timing for what I’m about to ask due to recent convos, but am I the only one who’s a little disappointed in the level of talent drink brings in via portal?

I mean this comparing to two different measures.

1) our fellow rivals, usc, UK, and Arkansas bring in 4 and 5 star transfers.

2) the way drink can recruit as we’ve seen, one would think he could recruit high end transfers, especially since we still have positions that players could win at that level.

Sure there’s times his transfers have been good, Maietti. But most have been, pretty blah. Even the ones coming in can help, but not instant starters accept for the okie state player who is now with wingo leaving.

All I’m saying is seems like drink is better suited at recruiting HS kids more so than transfers

Charleston and Norwood were 4* talent. Jernigan is a guy who is probably better than his HS ranking. Brought in Ogar and Cooper last year.

What have Mizzou shown on the field so far? Not much. That is why most rather go where they have much better chance to be on a high ranked team than not be on a
ranked team at all. So, he will get what he can. 4*, 5*, and high 3* HS recruits are his best chance to build the football program. Mizzou is way down with 5*,4* players on the current roster. Like I said give him time to build the roster up. Also, Drinkwitz is young and hasn't been proven to young recruits that he is good enough to succeed against the other HCs that have been recognize and/or have already proven to be good.

I guess my bone to pick is that I'd like to see players who arent projects(norwood) or players who are fighting for a spot( Peat, Ogar and Charleston). Cooper has been injured so he gets a pass.

Hicks is only a 2 star, blaze was ok.

Just feels like with Drink being as good of a recruiter as he is, and with as many spots open for PT as we have, one would think we would have kids with proven stats coming in left and right.

Frankly, there aren’t that many proven studs transferring and they are almost all going to blue bloods when they do.

Most of these guys are transferring because they aren’t getting PT at the school they are leaving.

Akayleb Evans and Allie Green were both established prospects

Evans and maietti are the 2 transfers that I thought were big for us. The rest I thought have been pretty disappointing, and the others who have not played, are the ones I been talking about

Tyrone Hopper, LB from UNC is Transferring to the Zou. LINK

“ Hopper played just over 1,000 snaps at UNC from 2017-21, almost exclusively as an edge rusher on the D-line, per @PFF. 2020 was his best year with 27 pressures, 23 hurries.” - Dave Matter

Nice addition. He was in the 2016 recruiting class, so hopefully he can bring some experience and wisdom to the young guys on the team

Dylan Spencer transferring back to Mizzou after transferring from Mizzou to Jackson State during the 2020 season. Played in six games on the OL as a true freshman in 2020, including one start, before transferring mid-season.

Not sure I get this one. Someone on the OL headed out? Does someone on the OL now flip over to the DL?

I wonder if Daniel Barker is the new TE target. Drinkwitz and Link both follow him on twitter now. He had 11 Td's at Illinois in his career.

Daniel Barker sounds like something Daniel Parker would name his dog

Ty'Ron Hopper, LB from Florida just entered the portal. He's the younger brother of Tyrone Hopper who just transferred to Mizzou. Had 62 tackles this season as a sophomore at UF, was a top 100 recruit in the 2019 class.
