Hey JQ- come in off the ledge. mU Bobby just heard that information may have changed and we are in better shape than we thought.

We’ll see. I don’t think we get him, but would love to be wrong

Even though I'm satisfied with Boone and Massey I just can't get over the watching Washington's abilities going one-on-one against some of the best dbs in the country in some of the camps. This dude is smoooooooth and just makes it all look so easy.

You can never have enough playmakers especially in a wide open offense, but do you guys worry about getting players at other positions of need?
Or am I just ignorant of your teams needs and you are losing a lot at WR and need all of them.

We’ll take 3 maybe 4 WR. Pretty standard amount.

We don’t have a “need” on the roster as far as numbers go. Pretty balanced, but we certainly need to be better at DE and DB. We generally do not recruit guys that are going to be instant impact. We typically have to develop. Although, Jalani Williams May be able to make an instant impact in the secondary if we could get him.

Can someone fill me in on the Isaiah Williams possibilities. Lets say lovie gets canned soon, and he opens his recruitment. I had heard mizzou didnt really want him vise versa because he wants to play QB although he sucks at throwing the ball. Is this true that we told him he needs to play a different position here?

Was he even looking at mizzou at all?

I know the TE coach is his mentor, so that may also play a part if he looks elsewhere

Williams isn’t bad at throwing the ball. He needs to work on his footwork, but has good arm strength.

wouldnt rule that out. While odds are in his favor, anything can happen win you go win-less in conf for back to back years.

They are bad but they do have Rutgers, Maryland and Nebraska on the schedule.

Have to think they win a couple of those.

Really?

Actually had no idea, just taking word from others who thought he wasnt good enough to play QB at p5 level

He can probably be a pretty good college QB based mostly on his athleticism but if he wants to play in the NFL it certainly wont be as a signal caller.

we are pickier with our QB prospects regarding arm. we have to have the threat to throw long to make our run game work. That's why we are obsessed with WRs.
Williams would not be a great fit for us at QB. It's the reason Marvin Zanders was not played often. Great for us as a backup but not when it means something

Williams isn't beating Cover 2 from the pocket vs a Power 5 defense.
