Why do you think we might lose Gray?
Gabe DeArmond has said that he never responds to their request for interviews.

Michigan offered Gray. That’s where he’s from.

Let's get Johncarlo Valentin, Michael Thompson, and another big O Lineman and we will have a good class.

Mizzou is up to 33 in Rivals team rankings.
During the early season struggles I predicted Mizzou would finish near 30 in team rankings. Either by Mizzou winning and BO earning year 3, or by Mizzou losing and a new coach being hired.

They are rated #33 because they have a lot of verbal commits compared to most and not because they have a lot of highly rated players.

As I understand stand it Rivals only uses the top 20 ranked recruits in team rankings.

This is where an early signing date was supposed to help a program like Mizzou.

I don't know that it makes much of a difference. We flip guys too. Early signing day and we probably don't have Crockett, Wilson, Powell, Byers, Sparks etc.

I don't like it. Not the timing of it anyway. Make it in September where the kids who 100% know where they want to go can sign. 6 weeks before normal signing day just seems like a rush for little benefit.

It's supposed to help because nationwide when HS football is over the big schools poach from each other, and then late in the recruiting season they poach from schools like Mizzou to fill out their classes. So while a 3 star CB may round out a Michigan class, he would be a true asset to a program like Mizzou.

I get the premise, but Mizzou also poaches from other schools.

We've gotten several great players by flipping them from smaller schools late.

To hear Nick Saban tell it, he thinks it ruins the chances of big schools being able to poach at the last minute. He says that’s bad for the kids to not have the chance to go to better schools.
In reality we just poached Bakale from tulane but we had to move the date of our poaching 6 weeks in advance. We see a lot of schools offering like the nubs stealing recruits at the last minute. If the recruiting december signing day had been on dec 1, we might have had Martinez. Coaching changes more often happen after the last regular season games.
The early signing day does hurt recruits though. Once again we are making them sign something that helps them in no way. Saban is correct in that regard, but his motives are not to help students but to make recruiiting easier for the bluebloods. Let nonbluebloods do the work and offer at the last minute.
