Why didn't Pinkel recruit or at least offer this kid, because he seems to have an impressive offer list and he catches everything in sight?

How do we know it was all Pinkel. This seems to be the case with several instate recruits lately. Maybe the old staff had some influence in his offer decisions. I don't know. It seems Odoms staff seems to be more open. Maybe it's the scheme Odom wants to run effecting who is offered. I still wish they would have went after Skylar Thompson, but that ship has since sailed. He'll make the oldman at Kstate a good qb. Oh well.

Pinkel's system for offering was that the whole staff had to be on board prior to offering. This was especially slow for instate recruits.

I wonder if there's a chance that Strong or Taylor might decommit or both? Something else might be going on here or I could be over-reacting.

Don't know. Recruiting I guess. No doubt someone's in his ear. It's probably not over yet. These kids figure out a couple schools want them and they want to make a show out of it. 15 minutes of fame maybe? I was hoping he'd stick around.

Ricker I'm sure.

Could be. If so, kid just not showing any smarts. He obviously didn't watch the shitty coaching job that cost Ricker his job. That or Ricker is lying his arse off, which I'm sure Odom can handle in due time.

I thought about Ricker too but didn't Odom flip him after Ricker was canned?

Could Ricker be spewing negatives about why Ivey was fired to get to the kid? I can't imagine anyone wants to play on his fricked-up line after what we saw this fall.

It's a recruiting dead period, so I'm not sure how much real access Ricker has to a recruit.
Ricker was a good recruiter. Just not good at teaching techniques. The while offensive staff was bad last year at putting players in the right positions.

Trevour Simms is still committed to Mizzou. Illinois is a great school and will make the next month or so tough on the kid.

It's going to be a long time between now and signing day.

Think this has anything to do with the dead period and the possibility of violations by Ricker and the Illinois staff?

Hmmm. Interesting. What are the penalties for recruiting in a dead period?

He wasn't officially announced until a few days into it. So technically he could have been recruiting Simms up until he was announced at Illinois because he didn't have a NCAA job.

Didn't think about the dead period. Being this info I think started around an Illini beat reporter, maybe someone is playing games. Maybe a shot at Mizzou for stealing a recruit from them? Stir up the Mizzou fanbase to cause some negative verbage by Mizzou fans aimed at Simms?

Well, he changed his Twitter profile back to Illinois commit.

I'd like to have him, but I hope BO tells him he is either in or out.

PM just updated his HS coach said he never recommited to Illinois. He is still a verbal to Mizzou right now. He also said Simms could still open up his recruitment before signing day. He said Illinios will be puting the pressure on him to recommit. But he also said Simms really liked Mizzou.

I have a feeling if Pinkels staff would have offered way back, this Wouldn't even be an issue right now.

Tryreic Martin decommits. Down to 15 kids in the class if you include Simms.
