Great start for Odom. Terry ranks as player 23rd in state (TX) and 23rd nationally at position (weakside DE) I think. He's a solid get.

Terry is MU's 16th commit for the class of 2016. He had 94 tackles and 15 sacks over 9 games this year, per MaxPreps.com.

Definitely moving to more of a 3-4 defense.

The from can be nasty next year.

Just watched some of his HUDL video. There is one thing that really stands out. That kid has some WHEELS! He also closes down on the ball extremely fast. Ball carrier doesn't have any time to adjust.

Yep. I'm just happy to see this defense reloading with same or better players coming in. Depth on defense is something we really need to expand on if this offense has trouble next season.

The defensive line next year is going to be unbelievable. Brady, Brantley, Beckner and Harris.. With Frazier, Augusta and Hatley and Howard next in line. Oh boy

So stoked to get Chuck's cousin! I hope his hand is healed after Marty McFly slammed his hand in the trunk.

The Missouri Tigers have picked up their first football commitment since their coaching change.

The Barry Odom era is just a little over a week in, and the new Missouri head football coach has picked up his first commitment since taking over for retired Gary Pinkel.
Dallas (TX) South Oak Cliff DE/LB Marvin Terry 6'3" 215 has verbally commited while on his official visit to Mizzou this weekend.
Terry made an announcment on Twitter stating how he just committed whith the hashtage #TheZouFamily.
Marvin Terry on the 2015 season had 94 tackles overall, 37 of them for loss, and 15 sacks. He also had offers from Oklahoma State,TCU, Arkansas, Miami,UCLA, Louisville, Wisconsin amd Texas Tech among others.

I thought I'd post links to some articles on Terry...

Over the past few years South Oak Cliff has gone from one of the Dallas area's many solid, but largely forgotten, programs to one of the city's top talent producers. And that emerging talent production has caught the eye of the Sooner coaching staff who are just two weeks removed from signing four-star safety Prentice McKinney.

A few days ago the Sooners decided they wanted to add another Bear star to their ranks when they offered Rivals250 linebacker Marvin Terry. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound prospect, who put up a combined 42-sacks during his sophomore and junior years, has never shied away from admitting he was an Oklahoma fan and soaked up every minute of his offer on Sunday.

"We were all in a group and the coaches actually pulled me out and sent me up to Bob Stoops' office and that was how they let me know," Terry said. "They were saying we like you so much and that I'll be a great fit for what they are trying to do and that's why they offered me a scholarship.

Apparently Terry may have (or had) some academic issues. LINK

Is anyone aware of his current status?

So, is anyone reading anything into this? Maybe Odom changing up recruiting philosophy back to leaning more to Texas recruiting? Or is this just business as usual?

You can't take an OV without a qualifying ACT score right?

I think he's already gone on the record as saying he's going back into Texas in a big way - and if he hasn't actually said it, his actions are speaking volumes. And it's the right move. Texas has been good to Missouri and Odom speaks their language.

It was a mistake by the previous regime to leave and Odom quickly corrected it. A command decision.

I just watched on of Terry's hudl videos. Impressive. Not a knock against him, because he was still fast to close and had a nose for the ball, but a lot of his highlight tape had plays where he simply wasn't even blocked. And not because he was too fast. Just either blown assignments or horrible job of drawing up plays to literally leave him unblocked.

I thought Alton was projected as a DB.
Also Marvin Little is really Terry.

Simms told PM he'll make a decision on or just before signing day. I know he was tweeting about how much he loves Illinois right before the visit, but be said the Mizzou visit went great and he's not solid to Illinois anymore. Probably helped he visited with Strong and Taylor and TBJ was there too. Give me as many ESL kids as possible, hopefully it helps with WR for next year.
